Died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at age 58, in Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, Md. He had served in the U.S. Navy, and worked at Absolute Painting as a painter. Survived by his wife, Gail Cannon Smith of North Fort Myers, Fla. Locally survived by a sister, Margaret Rose Murphy of Frederica. Mills, 95, of Dover will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 29, in the Highland Cemetery, Hopewell, N.J. Mrs. Mills died Friday, May 23, 2003. Mrs. Mills was born in Hopewell Township, N.J. She was a 1927 graduate of Rider College. She was a teacher in Frenchtown, N.J., and Chesapeake City, Md., and worked for the DuPont Co. in Wilmington, retiring in 1972. Mrs. Mills was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, AARP and the Modern Maturity Center of Dover. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Mills Sr. She is survived by a son, James M. Mills Jr. of Dover; seven grandchildren, Lauren, James, Sarah, Helen, Corey, Bryan and Sean; a nephew, Hartwell Vannoy of Hopewell, N.J.; and a niece, Peggy Rosa of Newark.
