She was 79. Mrs. Blake was born July 27, 1923, in Maryland, daughter of the late Hugh Wilson Sr. and Julia Wilson. She received her early education in Maryland. She married the late Dennis Blake. The couple raised five children together in Smyrna. They later move to Dover. Over the next few years her husband's health declined and as a devoted wife, she resigned from her job as a cook to care for her husband until his death. Lovingly known as "Mom-mom," she spent the next several years helping to take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Often she would reminisce with her family about her childhood experiences, her parents and siblings. Mrs. Blake was a member of The Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Dover. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Franklin Wilson, Anthony Blake and James Wilson; a great-great-grandson, Xavier Wilson-Ridgway; a brother, Hugh Wilson Jr.; and a sister, Ethel Dobson. She is survived by two daughters, Elsie M. Davis, who was devoted to her mother's care, and Pearl Summers, both of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, Micheal and Deatra Blake of Dover; nine grandchildren and a spouse, Denise Wilson, Valerie and Lamotte Waddell, William Davis, Crystal Baxter, Dawn Summers, Andre, Lakendra, Taja and Tyrie Blake, all of Dover; 11 great- grandchildren, Sarina, Latoya, De'Von and Kiara Wilson, Charles Sanders, Monteja and Imeer Waddell, Jiaya and Shaneeka Summers, LaShonda Baxter and Javon Warren, all of Dover; three brothers, James, William and Ernest Wilson, all of Maryland; two sisters, Hilda Groce and Hester Wilson, both of Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Pamela Louise Cooper, 42 LAUREL - Pamela Louise Cooper of Laurel died Friday, June 13, 2003, near Mardela, Md. She was 42. Mrs. Cooper was born in Salisbury, Md., daughter of Donald and Jean Cooper Littleton of Hebron. She was a 1978 graduate of Mardela High School. She also graduated from Dorchester General School of Nursing, and then went to work at the state hospital in Cambridge, Md. She had been a nursing coordinator for Home Health Corp. for the past 13 1/2 years. Mrs. Cooper was an avid shopper and pinochle player. She was a sports enthusiast with a love for softball, volleyball, bowling, March Madness and NASCAR. A person that could read a book in a day, sang in the church choir and still be able to tell you what was right and what was wrong. A strong-willed person that will be greatly missed by everyone that she came in touch with, including the children she cared for and most importantly the family that meant so very much to her. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, William W. Cooper. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 231/2 years, Jack "Pete" Cooper of Laurel; two children, Shane O. Cooper and Rachael P. Cooper, both at home; two sisters, Cindy Downes of Salisbury and Beth Maynor of Georgia; her mother-in-law, Emma Lee Cooper of Laurel; and eight nieces and a nephew. He was 69. Mr. Corkell was born in Denton, Md., son of the late Harry R. and Nancy L. Corkell. He served his country in the National Guard. Mr. Corkell was a farmer most of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Nelson and Calvin Corkell; and a sister, Mary Francis Sparks. He is survived by a son, Jamie Corkell; two daughters, Sarah Lee Corkell and Alta May Corkell; five brothers, Bobby Corkell of Greenwood, John W. Gardner, 79 REHOBOTH BEACH - Albert J. Gardner of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Lancaster, Pa., died Monday, June 16, 2003. He was 79. Mr. Gardner was born Oct. 29, 1923, in Lancaster, Pa., son of the late Albert N. Gardner and Marie Harlan. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and saw three years of service in the Mediterranean. He retired from Lancaster Malleable Casting Co. in December 1983 after 26 years of service. Mr. Gardner was a member of the Senior Bowling League in Milford and American Legion Post 8 in Georgetown. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Miriam Gardner; a daughter and son- in-law, Carol and Maynard Buszek of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; and his sister, Louise Waxmunski of Glen Allen, Va. He was 73. Mr. Hampton was born May 6, 1930 in Smyrna, son of the late Elmer Hampton and Blanche Hampton. He attended Delaware schools. He worked all his life as a farmer. Mr. Hampton loved to go fishing, hunting and horseback riding. He enjoyed having all of his children and grandchildren spending time with him at his home in the country. He had a heart of gold. He was a "people person" and would do anything he could to help someone. He would always smile and speak to anyone he met. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Hampton; eight children, Arthur Hampton Jr. of Woodside, Meta Hampton Hicks and Edna Hampton, both of Dover, Marie Benson of Frederica, Howard Hampton of Kitts Hummock, Bernice Gardner of Suitland, Md., and Tammy and Samuel O'Neal, both of Harrington; four brothers, Elmer, Elwood and Harry Hampton, all of Dover, and James Hampton of Coatesville, Pa.; four sisters, Betty Combs, Nickolina and Nancy Hampton, all of Dover, and Ida Hawkins of Rock Hall, Md.; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was 45. Mrs. Hitchens was born in Seaford, daughter of Irene M. West Horsey of Laurel and the late Howard L. Horsey Jr. Prior to her failing health, she was a supervisor at the Stockley Center in Millsboro. Mrs. Hitchens was a member of C.H. Foggie A.M.E. Zion, Bridgeville, where she served as a missionary, usher and a member of the culinary ministry. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Horsey. She is survived by her husband, Donald L. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Cannon and Evelyn Clark. He is survived by a brother, Alfred Traini Jr.; two sisters, Irene Merritt and Louise Kellam; a niece, Debbie Oliver, with whom he lived; and several other nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
