She was 86. Mrs. Benton was born near IB in Chestertown, daughter of the late Leroy Hodge Coleman, Jr., and Rena Dewey Walls Coleman. She graduated from Church Hill High School in 1932. Mrs. Benton drove a school bus as an independent contractor for 30 years. She enjoyed her gardening and sharing her plentiful bounty with family and friends. Mrs. Benton was a kind, loving, gentle person who had a great love and concern for people. She touched many with her generosity, giving and serving. She was an angel God was waiting for to come to heaven. Mrs. Benton was a member of the Top of the Hill Club, Sudlersville Community Betterment Club, Sudlersville Homemakers Club and a devoted member of Calvary- Asbury United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Everett and Skeet Coleman. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bo Benton; a daughter, Joyce Benton of Chestertown; two sons, Lawrence Wayne Benton of Annapolis and Kenneth C. Benton of Hawaii; four brothers, Hodge and Alan Coleman of Sudlersville, Marion Coleman of Chestertown and Ronald Coleman of Florida; two grandsons, Bill Green of Centreville and Steve Green of Chestertown; five great grandchildren, Zack, Savanna, Sierra "CC" and Spencer Green of Chestertown, and Madison Green of Centreville. Blansfield of Rehoboth Beach died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was 85. Mr. Blansfield was born in Cecilton, Md., son of the late James E. and Margaret Gonce Blansfield. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He had been employed as a garage mechanic. Mr. Blansfield loved fishing, bowling and NASCAR racing. Hamer of Rehoboth Beach died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, in her home. She was 90. Mrs. Hamer was born in Keyser, W.Va., daughter of the late Joseph and Bertie Oates Bissett. She had formerly worked as an assembler for the Westinghouse Corp. Mrs. Hamer was a member of Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Abbott Hamer, in 1984. She is survived by two sons, Ralph Hamer of Rehoboth Beach and Squire Ernest Hamer of Charles Town, W.Va.; a brother, Charles Tysinger of Keyser; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Heim, 62 DAGSBORO - Karl E. Heim of Dagsboro, formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, in his home after a brief illness. He was 62. Mr. Heim recently retired from the Stockley Center in Georgetown, where he was a registered nurse for 12 years. He loved fishing, gardening, and Syracuse basketball games. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kristopher and Kyle Heim; his father, Edward Heim; and a sister, Carol Martin. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Heim; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kerrie, and Kelly and Shawn Neville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Nicholas Heim and Todd and Jennifer Skinner; two grandchildren, Morgan Leigh Neville and Jacob Skinner; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Morris Rosen; his mother, Magdelena Heim; his mother-in-law, Emminetta Elmore; and a host of nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
