*   Charles Peter 'Chuck' Hagadorn, 68

DOVER - Charles Peter "Chuck" Hagadorn of Dover died surrounded by his loving
family after a short battle with cancer on Good Friday, April 18, 2003. He was
68.
    Mr. Hagadorn was born in Hudson, N.Y.
    He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1961.
    Mr. Hagadorn worked for Playtex Products Inc. from 1960 to 1998, when he
retired to be with his family and church.
    His favorite hobby was fresh-water fishing. He also loved to bowl and
participated in the Senior Olympics.
    Mr. Hagadorn was a member of the United Methodist Church of Felton, where he
was also a lay speaker. He was an avid Christian and cared deeply for his family
and his family in Christ.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and his son, Charles P.
Hagadorn Jr.
    He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Hagadone; a sister, Kathryn Silse of
Newport Richey, Fla.; his brother, Carl Hagadone of New York; his loving wife of
47 years, Marlene M. Hagadorn of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Chris
and Jack Thompson of Dover and Deborah Hughes of Dover; a son and daughter-in-
law, David and Sandy Hagadorn of Townsend; a daughter, Pauline Hallenbeck and
her fiancé, Wes, and his daughter, Jessica Brodie of Denton, Md.; 10
grandchildren, Shelby Truesdale and his wife Jennifer of Dover, Jayson Truesdale
of Frederica, Christian Hagadorn of Dover, Paul, Aaron and Ashlee Hughes, all of
Dover, Theodore and David Rifenburg of Denton, Md. and Russell McNatt and
Melinda Hagadorn of Townsend; and a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Truesdale of
Dover.
    There will be a private service for the family Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m.
after which friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. in Torbert's Funeral Chapel, 1145
Lebanon Road, Dover.
    Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Torbert's Funeral Chapel.
    Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Dover.
    Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Felton United Methodist
Church and United Methodist Committee on Relief through Felton United Methodist
Church, 101 East Main St., Felton, DE 19943.

*   Samuel C. Sockriter, 81

    HARBESON - Samuel C. Sockriter of Harbeson died Friday, April 18, 2003, in
Lewes Convalescent Center, Lewes. He was 81.
    Mr. Sockriter was born in Millsboro, son of the late James and Lillie Hester
Coffin Sockriter. He also had resided in the Harrison House in Georgetown for
four years.
    He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served in the 445th A.A.A.W.
Battalion.
    He was a maintenance supervisor at the DuPont Co. plant in Seaford for 46
years, retiring in 1986.
    Mr. Sockriter loved gardening and was an avid reader.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Ethel Barbara Morris; his second wife, Billie Jean Baker; two brothers, Leonard
and Hoyward Sockriter; and a sister, Emma Eckstein.
    He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Phyllis Busby Sockriter; two sons,
Samuel 'Morris' Sockriter of Long Neck and Michael C. Sockriter of Lewes; three
grandchildren, Christopher and Sarah Sockriter and Shannon Fultz; a great-
grandson, Logan Scott Fultz; six stepchildren, Scott, Mark and Baron Joseph,
Karen Smith, Sheree Berl, and John Jones; and several stepgrandchildren and
stepgreat-grandchildren.
    Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Short Funeral Services, 609 E.
Market Street, Georgetown.
    Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
    Burial will be in Harbeson Cemetery, Harbeson.

*   Harold Stevenson, 81

    GEORGETOWN - Harold Stevenson of Georgetown died after a heart attack
Monday, April 14, 2003. He was 81.
    Mr. Stevenson was born June 23, 1921 in Delaware, son of the late Phillip
Mitchell and Hilda Tunnell. Mr. Stevenson was a native of Georgetown.
    He was much loved by friends and relatives who often referred to him as
"Midget" or "Steve."
    He attended the Richard Allen School in Georgetown and Dover High Schoo.
After graduating from Dover High, he joined the U.S. Army in 1942. While serving
his country, he received four medals and was honorably discharged in 1946. Upon
returning home, Mr. Stevenson gained employment with Graves and later went to
work for the Thurgood Cement Co., where he worked many years.
    Mr. Stevenson was a longtime member of Prospect A.M.E. Church in Georgetown.
    He is survived by his cherished companion with whom he shared his life and
love, Anne Waples; and several cousins, many friends and a community of
acquaintances.
    Services will be 11a.m. Tuesday in Prospect A.M.E. Church in Georgetown,
where friends may call one hour earlier.
    Burial will be in Millsboro Veterans Cemetery.

*   Dora E. Willin, 79

    SEAFORD - Dora E. Willin of Seaford died Friday, April 18, 2003, in
Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. She was 79.
    Ms. Willin had worked for Seaford Garment/Gant Co., she had also worked at
the Laurel Truck Stop and was an Avon Representative.
    She was a life member of the Blades Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary, a
member of the Seaford Women of the Moose, and a volunteer at the Atlantic
Community Thrift Shop in Clarksville.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Willin Sr., in 1977 and
two sisters, Gladys Fisher and Doris Passwaters.
    She is survived by three sons, Earl E. Chaffinch Sr. of Blades, Walter James
Willin of Ocean View and Harley Lee Willin of Millsboro; a daughter, Anna Mae
Taylor of Seaford; 10 grandchildren, Crystal French, Linda Wheatley, Earl E.
Chaffinch Jr., Paula Lynn Chaffinch, Kelly Jean White, Brian James Willin, Lisa
Ann Chandler, William Scott Willin, Marvin David Stumbo and Rebecca Taylor
Wright; two aunts, Etta Joseph and Dorothy Whaley; 15 great grandchildren; two
great great grandchildren; a niece; and three nephews.
    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N.
Shipley St, Seaford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
    Burial will be in Blades Cemetery.
