He was 21. Mr. Cahall was born April 5, 1982 in Dover. He attended Caesar Rodney High School, Camden. He worked as a laborer for Appliance Heating and Air Conditioning. Mr. Cahall enjoyed skateboarding and roller blading. He is survived by a daughter, Skye Hanna of Wyoming; his parents, Michael and Robin Cahall of Wyoming; a brother, Michael Cahall Jr. of Wyoming; a paternal grandfather, Elbin N. He was 91. Mr. Dean was born Jan. 13, 1912 in Whiteleysburg, Md., son of the late Edward Kemp and Williametta Davis Dean. He worked as a foreman for Maryland's state roads for 44 years before retiring in 1974. Mr. Dean was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Greensboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Thompson Dean, in 1955. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dean; a daughter, Rowena Larrimore of Greensboro; a stepson, William E. Towers Jr. of Milford, Del.; two grandchildren, Mark Edward Lynch of Preston and Nancy Dixon of Felton, Del.; two step-grandchildren, Eddie and Alex Towers of Milford, Del.; and four great-grandchildren. She was 90. Mrs. Flatley was born in Duluth, Minn., daughter of the late Robert and Helen B. (Sargent) Haire. She was a secretary for the House of Representatives on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC for 30 years before retiring in 1972. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Flatley in 1947. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert John and Carol Ann Flatley of Bethany Beach; a daughter, Kathleen Flatley Poston of Milford; a granddaughter and her husband, Dana Lynn and Ronald Francis Stevens of Lincoln; and two great-grandchildren, Stacy Lynn and Robert Thomas Stevens, both of Lincoln. "Fordie" Ford of Greenwood died April 10, 2003, in Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna. He was 67. Mr. Ford was a member of the first class to graduate from Louis L. Redding High School in Middletown. He continued on to Delaware State College for two years where he majored in accounting. His strong determination to attend college was overwhelming because he did not have transportation to get there, so he hitchhiked every day and even held down a part-time job in the evening at the Dinner Bell Inn in Dover. Following that, he managed and operated a small eatery in Dover called the Starlight Grill. After leaving that he became employed at Kent-Sussex Industries where he was made assistant manager and held that position until his departure from there. William also sold cars for awhile as well as Amway products, which he sold for many years. At one time, his employment also included chauffeuring and being the accountant for Ben Smith Masonry Contractors. He also had a thrift store in Greenwood called Brits Whatnot Shoppe. He gave it up to care for his goats, a pastime in which he found great pleasure until he became unable to continue doing so. Mr. Ford was a member of The Bridgeville Church of God and enjoyed attending services. He loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Ford, in 1982; and his father, William L. Ford in 1992. He is survived by his mother, Ada Ford of Dover; seven sisters, Mary Blackson, Gloria Wisher, Virginia Ford, Jeannette and husband Joe Twitty, Sarah and husband Angelo Albarran all of Dover, Rose and husband Sylvester Wilson of Hartly, and Dorothy and husband Melvin Watson of Townsend; 21 nieces and nephews; 37 great-nieces and great-nephews; four great-great nieces and great- great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier. Upon completion of services, a brief gathering will be held for the family only. Burial will be in Lockwood Cemetery. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Dorothy Almeda Harris, 81 DOVER - Dorothy Almeda Harris of Dover died Wednesday April 9, 2003. She was 81. Mrs. Harris was born Nov. 24, 1921, daughter of the late Ralph Caldwell and Annabell Peterson Caldwell. She attended Paul Lawrence Dunbar and Delaware State College. Mrs. Harris was employed by the Hub Restaurant, the Dinner Bell Inn and by the governor of the State of Delaware for many years. After sanctifying her life in Christ, she served as a faithful mother of Beacon Lighthouse Church under the pastorate of Elder Dr. Myrtle Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Arville Harris Sr.; a son, Elder Emmett Harris; two sisters, Beulah Adams and Clara Matthews; and a granddaughter, Debbie Scott. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brother William and Larriane Harris, Elder John and Virginia Harris and Brother Norman Harris; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sister Annabell and Arnold Sanders, Elder Dr. Myrtle and Paul Scott, Evangelist Doretha and Ben Quail and Sister Willa Moore and Eugene Harris; two special ladies she raised as her children, Reba "Niecy" Johns and Dorothy Brian; two sisters, Frances Dorsey and Arvetta Hines of Chester, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a very close friend, Sadie Wright. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Cemetery. --------------------------------------------------------------- * Lt. Col. Henry Lewis 'Lew' Jones, 77 DOVER - Lt. Col. Henry Lewis "Lew" Jones of Dover died after a long illness Sunday, April 13, 2003, in his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was 77. Lt. Col. Jones was born May 28, 1928 in Spartanburg, S.C., son of the late Carletta Broome Jones and Henry Lewis Jones Sr. He grew up in South Carolina and Virginia, graduating from Howard College in Birmingham, Ala. in 1949, with a bachelor of science degree in physics. He served in the Air Force for 26 years as a pilot and commander. He was awarded the Army's Bronze Star while serving with the Air Force in Vietnam in 1968-1969. He achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel and retired at Dover Air Force Base in 1975. During his career he piloted airplanes for 38 years, from 1943 to 1981. After his retirement in 1975, he worked for Ron Frazier Auto Body for five years and for C'&;'W Auto Parts for two years. Mr. Jones also was a flight instructor for Delaware Technical '&;' Community College and Delaware Air Park. He also worked as a private jet pilot for Showell Farms in Salisbury, Md. After 1981 he tuned and rebuilt fine pianos until 2002. Mr. Jones was a member of the Elks, QB's, VFW, American Legion, AOPA, Piano Technicians Guild, and Order of Daedalions. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Foshee Jones of Dover; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and John Bruno of Richmond, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Walker of New York; a son and daughter-in-law, H. Lewis and Janelle Jones of Nokesville, Va., a son, Chris Jones of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerry Jones and Teresa Schultz of Medway, Mass.; a daughter, Lynn Manners of Dover, a daughter, Patricia Castle of Dover; two brothers, Dr. Douglas O. Jones and his wife Ruth of Rock Hill, S.C. and Carl M. Jones of Greer, S.C.; a sister, Jessie Godshall and her husband, Wayne, of Greenville, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was 49. Mrs. McCray was born in Bishopville, Md., daughter of the late Robert Mumford Jr. and Juanita Henry Mumford. She was employed as a vaccinator at Perdue Hatchery in Selbyville. Mrs. McCray was a member of Antioch A. M. E. Church in Frankford where she served as a member of the adult choir and Christian education ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert McCray, in 1992. She was 83. Mrs. McEvoy was born in Canada and came to Florida in 1981 from Aberdeen, Md. She was an artist and a registered clown, performing under the name Shu Shu. She was active in the Florida Miniature Art Society, the Florida Watercolor Society and was past president of the Florida Chapter of National Ledge of American Penwomen. She was a member of Northwood Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, Fla., where she was active in the Stephen's Ministries, and the International PEO Sisterhood. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert W. Sheridan of Seaford died Friday, April 11, 2003, in his home. He was 92. After high school, he attended college in Deep Springs, Calif. and then graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. in 1935. Mr. Sheridan retired in 1972 from Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. after 37 years. He was an engineering supervisor. After retiring in 1972 he and his wife moved to Dorset, Vt. until 1983 when they moved to Richmond, Va., then to Seaford in 1992. Mr. Sheridan was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Concrete Institute. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite Stephens Sheridan; a son, Richard D. She was 93. Mrs. West was born on a farm near Greenwood, daughter of the late Ora Francis and Rosa Catherine Whitby Baker. She was raised with strong Christian values. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. Mrs. West liked to travel, do crossword puzzles and have her family come home to visit. She also loved flowers, especially red roses, and animals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence E. Joseph Sr.; her son, Lawrence E. Joseph Jr.; a brother, Dawson Baker; a sister, Ethel Deremer; and a granddaughter, Jill Joseph. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph E.
