Augusta Newspaper, Woodruff County 1955 James Robert Sparks, Retired Farmer, Dies At Home in Augusta James Robert Sparks, 83, retired farmer and merchant, died Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Harrison Williams, in Augusta. Born in Alabama, he had lived in Augusta about 60 years. He was a Methodist. Survivors include two sons, Arthur Sparks, San Fernando, Calif., and Claud Sparks, Augusta; five other daughters, Mrs. Lena Collier of Little Rock, Mrs. Ed Smith, Mrs. Lydia Phillips and Mrs. Claud Conner of Augusta, and Mrs. Walter Moore of Tuscaloosa, Ala; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Seldey, Alabama City, Alabama and Mrs. Mollie Thornhill of Birmingham. Funeral arrangements have been tentatively set for Friday at the Methodist Church in Augusta by the Rev. O. D. Peters, pastor. Burial will be in Union Cemetery by Herbert Holmes Funeral Home. ************************************************************************
