Born November 2, 1923, in Fort Madison, Iowa, he was the son of Charles Lyman and Bertha Doty Young. He was a plant supervisor with Tharp Brothers Egg Processing Plant and a World War II Vetern. Survivors include his wife, Betty Faye Young; eight sons, Jim Young, Edward Hendrix, Maurice Hendrix, and Boyce Hendrix of Searcy, Royce Hendrix of Midwest City, Oklahoma, John Hendrix of Pangburn, and Larry Young Of Jonesboro; five daughters, Sharon McCullom and Rachelle Mellor of Kansas City, Missouri, Lila Snyder of Oklahoma City, Martha Ham of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Lisa Clark of Pangburn; two brothers, Albert Young and Doren Young of Illinois; one sister, Betty Archer of Washington; 48 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at Philadelphia Cemetery in Pangburn by McEuen-DeWitt Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9.
