Thomas William Henderson, 78, of Searcy died October 28, 1996. Born April 16, 1918, in West Point, he was the son of James Abner and Leona Ridings Henderson. He was an accomplished horseman and former member of the White County Sheriff's Department Mounted Patrol, a 32nd Degree Mason of the Griffithville Masonic Lodge # 565, and a retired senior foreman for Arkansas Power and Light, where he worked for over 35 years. Survivors include three sons, the Reverend C. E. Sturch of Marion, the Reverend Tommy L. Henderson of Jonesboro, and the Reverend Danny L. Henderson of Jonesboro, Georgia; one daughter, LaVera G. Oberly of Country Club Hills, Illinois; three brothers, Frank Henderson of Kennett, Missouri, sister, Alden Talbert of Grand Saline, Texas; eight grand- children and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lizzie Henderson, in 1987. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at South Heights Church of God, South Main in Searcy, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery by McEuen-DeWitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, Inc. of Searcy, 1903 Beebe-Capps Expressway, Searcy, AR 72143. Thomas was my uncle.
