James Abner Henderson, 95, of Searcy died Saturday, April 1. He was a Methodist, a 50 year Mason at Griffithville Lodge #565, and a retired carpenter. Survivors include four sons, Franklin Henderson of Kennett, Missouri, Thomas Henderson of Searcy, Harvey Henderson of Newport and Chester Henderson of Memphis; a daughter, Alden Talburt of Grand Saline, Texas; a sister, Lucy Nichols; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 3 at McEuen Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy by McEuen Funeral Home. James was my grandfather.
