Cincinnati paper We are again called upon the record the death of another one of our dear young frinds. Miss Ida, daughter of S. and L.C. GILBREATH died on Tuesday Feb 7th 1888 at her nome near Cincinnati. "Early in youth she made an open profession of religion and joined the M.E. Church South. She was not only a blessing to the community in which she lived, but the light and joy of home--a devoted daughter, a most kind-hearted sister and a true and affectionate friend. All who knew her loved her and her young friends were easily influenced by her sweet and amiable nature. After knowing her from childhood it is a pleasure to me to record the many virtues of such a pure-minded, sweet-tempered and generous girl. Her numerous friends will long remember her excellent qualities of character and mourn that one so kind and useful should be taken from them so early in life. She had a kind word for every one and in the home circle she was all gentleness and love. Her afflicted parents, in their sad bereavement, have the deepest sympathy of the entire community. How extremely sad to give up one in the bloom of life, and who had a bright and happy future before her "Early, bright, transient, Chaste as morning dew, She sparkles, was exhaled And went to Heaven" Her friends in their grief, may find consolation in her last words. She requested her mother not to mourn her death as she was perfectly reconciled to die and knew she would exchange this life for a purer and brighter one in Heaven A Friend Cincinnati February 12, 1888 .
