He was born at Elkins April 13, 1913 and lived there until 1942, when he moved to Kansas City. He is survived by his wife, Freda Melveia Dunaway Colcleasure and one son, Roger Lee, of the home; his Mother, Mrs. Callie Colcleasure of Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. John Moss of Kansas City and Mrs. Dorothy Roberts of Fullerton, CA; three brothers, C.L. Colcleasure of Blackwell, OK, C.O. and Gus Colcleasure, both of Kansas City. Funeral Services were conducted September 11 at Ronald R. Speaks Chapel in Independence, MO, by the Rev. Robert Watson of Muskogee, OK. Burial was in the Mound Grove Cemetery. Northwest Arkansas Times Newspaper April 6, 1981 CHESTER COLCLEASURE Blackwell, OK Word has been received that Chester Lynn Colcleasure 63, of Blackwell, died March 24, in Blackwell. Born Jan. 3 1918 at Elkins, the son of Mose and Callie Colcleasure, he was a member of the V.F.W. and the First Baptist Church. He served in World War II and lived in Kansas City until 1948, when he moved to Oklahoma. He worked for the former Blackwell Zinc Smelter Plant for 25 years and for Electron Corp. for eight years. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Marie Colcleasure, of the home; a son, Joel of Texas; a daughter, Miss Kay of Mesquite, TX; a foster daughter, Miss Lillie Harless of the home; a brother, Gus Colcleasure of Excelsior Springs, MO; a sister, Mrs. John Moss of Independence, MO and two grandchildren. Funeral was held March 26 in Blackwell, under direction of Hamilton-Porter Funeral home there. MRS. DORA GAY Springdale- Mrs. Dora E. Gay, 72, of Springdale, died Sunday at her home. Born April 29, 1908, at Flora, she was the daughter of Charlie and Arie Griffith Jennings. She was a member of the Seventh Day Church of God in Springdale. She moved to the area from California in 1961 Survivors include her husband J.E. Gay of the home; three sons, Howard, Harold and Jim Gay, all of Springdale; three brothers, Colman Jennings and Robbie Jennings of Flora and Garland Jennings of Bradford; three sisters, Mrs. Reba Southerland of Brasco, Mrs. Maxine White of Booneville and Mrs. Betty Jo Lutner of Placerville, CA; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the (can't read the rest, sorry!) ERNEST WHITE Rogers-Ernest Hanley White, 87, of Rogers, died Saturday at a Fayetteville hospital. Born Sept. 10, 1893 in Dallas, TX, the son of William Allen and Annie A. Ensminger White, he wa a retired farmer and had lived in this area for 43 years. He was a member of the Immanual Baptist Church in Rogers and a Veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Georgia Florence Roulett White of the home; two sons, David Cecil of Florissant, ME and Buford of Gravette; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Blacklock of Warner, OK, Mrs. Elsie Dove Sherry of Springdale and Mrs. Eva Jackson of Rogers; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Burns Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with burial at Rogers Cemetery. Visitation from 5-7 p.m. today in Burns Chapel.
