M. Hill, aged 53 years. Sister Hill had been a great sufferer for several months before her death, but she bare it with that fortitude that is characteristic of a true follower of Christ. She leaves a husband, six children and several grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Who can fathom the depts of a mother's affliction? Who, when called upon in the hour of need, can caress so tenderly as a mother? What hand can soothe the aching head, or administer to the wants of the feeble invalid, as the hand of a mother? A mother's smiles calls into exercise the first affections that spring up in our hearts, and she cherishes and expands the earliest germs of our intellects. "Thou are gone to the grave, but we will not deplore thee, Since God was thy ransom, thy guardian, thy guide; He gave thee, He took thee, and He will restore thee, And death hath no sting since the Savior has died."
