"ThereÕs Only One Of You" By Adam Stewart (Written for a friend in Arkansas in the spring of 1997) IÕll miss you in the morning When all the world is new I know the day can bring no joy, Because it brings not you. IÕll miss the well-loved voice of you Your tender smile for me The charm of you, the joy of your unfailing sympathy. The world is full of folks thatÕs true But thereÕs only one of you. IÕll miss you at the noontime The crowded city streets seems but a desert now I walk in solitude complete. IÕll miss your heart beside my own and the soothing of your hand, The quick gleam in the eyes of So sure to understand. The world is full of people thatÕs true But there is only one of you. IÕll miss you in the evening, When daylight fades away IÕll miss the sheltering words of you to protect me from the day. IÕll try to think I see you yet. There were the firelight gleams weary at last, IÕll sleep, and still IÕll miss you in my dreams. The world is full of people thatÕs true But there was only one of you. =================================================================== The Waldron News October 15, 1997 Obituary JERRY KNOX GOOLSBY Jerry Knox Goolsby of Waldron died Monday, October 6, 1997 in his home. Obituaries October 8, 1997 Page 4 of The Waldron News The Waldron News October 8, 1997 Obituary ELSIE ETHEL (ALLEN) FULLER Elsie Ethel (Allen) Fuller was born in Parks, Arkansas on January 15th, 1906 to John and Mary (Harris) Allen. She married Thomas Howard ÒJackÓ Fuller of Arkansas on October 24th,1923, before she was 18. They moved to Raymondville, Texas and to this union was born 3 daughters and 1 son. When she was about 19 years of age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. Both she and Jack were baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Raymondville, Texas. Her son-in-law, Dalton Low, was her last pastor. In later years she moved to California and had lived in Fallbrook for 8 years, near her youngest daughter, Mrs. DeWayne (Molly) Stout. Her other children that survive her are: Mr.Jerry Allen Fuller of Sparks, Nevada; Mrs. Ralph (Rosemary) Harper of Greenville, Texas, and Mrs. Dalton (Jacqueline) Low of Aurora, Colorado; their spouses; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides having been a loving, caring, Christian wife and mother, she had served many people in her lifetime as a practical nurse. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her. She was a pretty lady, a lady of character, with a servant's heart. She loved pretty clothes and hats, was meticulous in her dress even though she wasn't a Òwoman of means.Ó She was a good cook (and loved doing "her thing" in the kitchen.) She was a lover of good reading, especially of poetry and her Bible, and for years was a good correspondent to those she loved. She went to be with her Lord early on September 23rd, 1997, at age 91 years, 8 months and 8 days. We who knew and loved her rejoice together for her ÒHOMEGOING.Ó She was ready to meet her Lord with Whom she had a close relationship for over 70 years. Her life may not have been all happiness, but she was certainly loved and blessed by God. She lived longer than any of her predecessors, from as far back as her family history can tell us. Her longevity is one proven fact of God's grace and tender loving care for and us that remain as well. Many times she was not easy to ÒunderstandÓ but none of us had to Òwalk in her shoesÓ and she became more ÒunderstandingÓ the longer we all lived. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, her husband, all of Arkansas. She will be greatly missed, but we can all thank God for her and our sweet memories, and we know she would admonish us all to meet her in Heaven some day. Near a shady wall a rose once grew Budded and blossomed in God's free light. Watered and fed, by morning dew Shedding its sweetness day and night. As it grew and blossomed fair and tall, Slowly rising to loftier height, It came to a crevice in the wall Through which there shone a beam of light. Onward it crept with added strength, With never a thought of fear or pride; It followed the light thro' the crevice length And unfolded itself on the other side. The light, the dew, the broadening view, Were found the same as they were before; And it lost itself in beauty anew, Breathing its fragrance, more and more. Shall claim of death cause us more to grieve? And make our courage faint or fall? Nay, let us faith and hope receive; The rose still grows beyond the wall. Scattering fragrance far and wide, Just as it did in days of yore Just as it did on the other side Just as it will forevermore. May your heart in its wisdom know love endures and life is everlasting.
