All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Presha Elizabeth Turner Crites Unknown Unknown AGED GUMLOG WOMAN IS DEAD--Mrs. Prechia Crites died at the home of her son, Billy Crites, on Gumlog Saturday evening, July 14th, 1930. She was in her usual health and after eating her evening meal was seated in her room and without warning she fell dead. Funeral and burial services in charge of Rev. J.A. Patterson was held in the Crites cemetery near Eggleston school house Sunday evening, July 20th 1930. Mrs. Crites was a daughter of Staten Turner who lived for many years near the Eggleston school. She was born in Georgia, Sept. 17, 1853 and came with her parents to Arkansas in 1869 and was married to W.M. Crites in February, 1783. Ten children were born to this union, five survive her, G.W., W.A., K.L., Mrs. M.J. Kindrick and Mrs. O.E Heflin of the Gumlog community. Four sisters survive, Mrs. Lable Crites of Crow Mt., Mrs Martha Crites of Plainview, Yell County, Arkansas and Mrs. Linda Turner of Okalhoma and Mrs. Mary Parks of California. Mrs. Crites was a member of the Christian church. Her acquaintance won her friends, her children idolized her and her life was given to her children and friends.
