WEINER FARMER DIES OF GUNSHOT WOUNDS MONDAY

Tommy Jaco, 23, of Route 1, Weiner, who was shot Monday night, October 30th outside of a 
Waldenburg cafe, died Monday afternoon at 4:50, Nov. 6th at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Ray Holmes said charges of murder will be filed against 
Charles (Pete) Roberds, 48, of Weiner, manager of the cafe who had been free on $2,000 bond 
on charges of assault with intent to kill in connection with the shooting.

The shooting, officers said occurred on the parking lot outside of Ed and Mary's Cafe about 
9:30 Monday night of last week.

Mr. Jaco, a dragline operator and farmer, was born at Harrisburg, but had lived many years 
near Weiner.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Jaco; a son, Gary Jaco; his parents, 
Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Jaco of Weiner; four brothers, Wayne Jaco, Jimmy Jaco, 
and Charles Jaco, all of Weiner; a half-sister, Mrs. Ailene Morgan of Weiner, 
and three half-brothers, Kenneth Casebier of Weiner, J. B. Jaco of Memphis 
and Leon Jaco of Atlanta, Ga.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Weiner Baptist Church 
with Rev. George L. Glass officiating. Burial was in Weiner Cemetery with Langford's Mortuary 
of Jonesboro in charge.

Pallbearers were: Gary Forrester, Jimmy Wakefield, James Wakefield, Billy Joe Ruesewald, 
Otto Ruesewald, Junior Duncan, George Siddons, Harold Bryant.
