L. Davis, 83, Miller County resident and grandfather of Chief of Police W. E. Davis, of Texarkana, Ark, died at his home in the Silverino Community at 11:30 a. m., Wednesday. He was a native of Alabama, but had moved to Miller county many years ago and was considered to be one of the pioneer residents of this section. Surviving are three sons, W. H. Davis, J. H. Davis, and J. A. Davis, four daughters, Mrs. Alonzo Aaron, Mrs. Mollie Harris, Mrs. Nora Bull and Mrs. Harris Grigson, and a brother H. J. Davis; all of Texarkana; 33 grandchildren 34 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday at the Silverino Baptist church. The Rev. O. O. Davis will officiate, assisted by the Rev. John Winham, the Rev. J. A. Jennings and the Rev. J. L. Simpson. Burial will be in Silverino cemetery. Active pallbearers will be the following grandsons, W. E. Davis, Calvin Davis, Arlie Aaron, Leon Davis, J.D. Harris and Floyd Davis.
