James Madison Sparks 1856- 1940 James Madison Sparks, age 84 years, died Monday at Pettigrew after several months of failing health. Funeral services were conducted at the home and the Alabam Church by Elder D. N. Dugeon burial in Alabam Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers were Elton Sparks, John Moore, Clarence Titswroth, Alonzo Ballinger, Leonard Smith, and Lloyd Townsley, grandsons of the deceased. The arrangements were directed by the Bruce Brashears Undertaking Company. Mr. Sparks was a native of Illinois but had resided in Madison county, Arkansas more than 75 years. His death was the first in his immediate family, being survived by his wife and eleven children. The five sons and six daughters are E. A. Sparks of Witter, Charley Sparks of Red Star, Albert D. Sparks of Huntsville, Elmer Sparks of Stilwell, Ok., Bryan Sparks of Stillwater, Ok., Mrs. Sallie Townsley of Coweta, Ok., Mrs. Myrtle Titsworth of Arvin, Ca., Mrs. Beulah Brandenburg of Kuna, Idaho, Mrs. Virgie Ward of Tulsa, Ok, Mrs. Della Eversole of Pettiegrew, Mrs. Cora Ballinger of Fairland, Ok, all of whom were present at the funeral except two daughters, Mrs. Titsworth and Mrs. Brandenburg.
