Survivors include his wife, Nellie Burton Garland; a daughter, Bobbie Jean Theiring of Cabot; Five sons, Roy Garland of Cabot, Donald Garland of Tupelo, Tommy Garland and Charles Garland, both of Austin, and Larry Garland of Hartford; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral was Sept. 10, Westbrook funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Beebe Cemetery WOODVILLE JORDAN Woodville "Butch" Jordan, 59, of Cabot died Sept. 2, 1997. He is a retired business owner. Funeral was Sept. 5 at Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Bayou Meto Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Lila Jordan; two sons, Kirk Jordan and Gus Jordan, both of Cabot; a daughter, Sarah Bellairs of Cabot; a sister, Blanche Holland of Sherwood; and two grandchildren. BEATRICE PRETTYMAN Beatrice M. Prettyman, 79, of Cabot died Sept. 7, 1997. Survivors include three sons, Thomas Moore of Ward, Ralph Moore of Cabot, and Edward Moore of Lexington, Va.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral was Sept. 10 at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. LESTER ANGUS LESTER ANGUS, 80, OF CABOT DIED SEPT. 7, 1997. Funeral was Sept. 9 at Mt. Tabor UMC by Rev. Paul Woolley. Burial was in MT. Carmel Cemetery by Cabot Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Jan Jewell; two sisters, Ruby Snyder of Ewing, Neb. and Beulah Furley of Madison, Neb.; and a grandaughter. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society, designated to research for prostate cancer. ERA LENDERMAN Era Estella Lenderman, 93, of Austin, formerly of Lincoln Park, Mich., died Sept. 5, 1997. She was a correspondent for the Woodlawn Senior Citizens news, which is published in Magie Enterprises Inc. newspaper. Survivors include a son, Everett Lenderman of Troy, Mich.; a sister Nellie Ekwall of Little Rock; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral was Sept. 9, at Sylvania Presbyterian Church by Rev. Jon White, with burial in Sylvania Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. ORVILLE FRANK MOORE Orville Frank moore, 64, of Lonoke died Sept. 5, 1997. He was a member of the Wattensaw Masonic Lodge, The VFW and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Jettie Moore of Lonoke; two sons, David Green and Timmy Travis, both of Cabot; three daughters, Sherry McFatridge of Redfield, Trina Welch of Cabot and Connie Hanusowski of Jonesboro; and six grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Mt. Zion UMC. The body was cremated. Cabot Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion UMC, Frank Moore parking lot project. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cabot Star Herald, Cabot, AR, September 17, 1997 LOIS SANDERS Lois Sanders, 75, of Austin died Sept. 13, 1997. Survivors include five sons, L.C. Sanders, Larry Sanders and Don Sanders, all of Austin, Randall Sanders of Lonoke and Houston Sanders of North Little Rock; three sisters, Elsie Wagner of Little Rock, Bennie Mae White of Redfield and Emma Bearden of Cabot; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral was Sept. 15, at Country Chapel Church, with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke. SHEILA JANE HALL Shelia Jane Hall, 39, of Conway died Sept. 11, 1997. Survivors include her mother, Martha Bea Hall of Cabot; and her grandmother, Altha Duncan of Beebe. Graveside service was Sept. 13 at Mt. hebron Cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe. MILDRED ELOISE STONE Mildred Eloise Stone, 77, of Little Rock, formerly of Lonoke County, died Sept. 11, 1997. She was a registered nurse, living in Alabama during World War II, and operated Stone Farms in Lonoke County. She was a member of the Maumelle First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Anne S. Roe of England and Janice S. Godsey of Scott; a sister, Dorothy B. Lapham of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside service was Sept. 13 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff, by Robinson's Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Maumelle UMC or St. Vincent Infirmary Auxiliary, Little Rock. ALTA SHILLINGS Alta Schillings, 87, of Cabot died Sept. 7, 1997. Survivors include a son, Paul Shillings of Hot Springs; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a Senior at Carlisle High School. Survivors include his mother, Cora Isbell Billings; two brothers, Joey Daniels of Jacksonville and William Alex Billings of Cabot; and a sister, Julia McDonald of Carlisle. Funeral was Sept. 24 at Carlisle First Baptist Church, with Burial in Hamilton Cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke. ROBERT E. HORTON Rober E. Horton, 66, of Lonoke died Sept. 19, 1997. He was an Army vetern of the Korean conflict. He retired in 1992 as a machinist with Jacuzzi Brothers. Funeral was Sept. 24 at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church with Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Swink Horton of Lonoke; two sons, Steve Horton of Pine Bluff and Dough Horton of the Netherlands; two daughters, Catherine Harris of Hazen and Teresa Horton of Lonoke; his mother, Susie Horton of Cabot; two brothers, Burnis Horton of Cabot and Kenneth Horton of Little Rock; four sisters, Virginia Bowden and Jean Costa, both of Russellville, Faye Gold of Lonoke and Betty Paddock of New Johnsonville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren. MARY V. KERCHEVAL Mary V. Kercheval, 86, of Carlisle died Sept. 17, 1997. Survivors are her daughters, Anne K. Steiner, Jane K. Teimble, Frankie K. Dunn and Karen K. Rogers, a sister, Margaret Langstadt, 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral was by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. COLE ALLEN YATES Cole Allen Yates, infant son of Billy Yates and Summer Robertson died Sept. 19, 1997. Other survivors include his grandparents, William and Mary Yates of Cabot, and Nicole and Rick Pulsifer of Rosebud. Graveside service was Sept. 22 at Sidon Cemetery by Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. ALTA AUSTIN Alta Merrill White Austin, 86, died Sept. 15, 1997. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church at Lonoke. Survivors include a son, Tommy Austin of Lonoke; a daughter, Juanita Jackson of Tyronza; a sister, Louise Kish of Memphis and four grandchildren. Funeral was Sept. 17 by Roller Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis, with burial in Tyronza.
