Elm Street, died Saturday afternoon at 2:15 at Lawrence memorial Hospital. Mrs. Helms was born in Kentucky and came to Lawrence County with her parents when a young girl. she was married to C. E. Helms in 1917. Mrs. Helms was a member of the First Baptist Church. She leaves her husband; three sons, William Nance of Walnut Ridge and Eddie Nance of Kansas City, MO. and Maxie Helms of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Newton of Walnut Ridge and Mrs. Pauline Luster of Kansas City; a sister, Myrtle Roehr of Walnut Ridge; a brother,Sam Benningfield of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral was Monday afternoon at Bryan Funeral Home Chapel by Rev, W.H.Heard. Burial was at Lawrence Memorial Park under direction of Bryan Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Harry Hilburn, Donald Davis, Gilbert Pulliam, Ira Phillips, Jack Dunham, Billy Joe Simmons, and Gerald Hall. ------------------------------------------------ Personal Note: Christine Helms was married to George T. Nance. She married Charles Edward Helms on June 1,1918. She was the daughter of Perry and Mattie Benningfield. Her daughter Pauline is Pauline Mattie Nance/Luster.
