Mr. Scott, a retired and self employed farmer, was a member of the Church of Christ and the Woodsman of the World. He is survived by his wife, Mrytle Marie Cathey Turner of the home; his mother, Minnie Adeline Hennessee Turner of Jonesboro; one son, Scott C. Turner of Egypt, Ark.; one daugher, Ginger Pequita Jaco of Durant, Iowa; a brother, Charles L. Turner of Newport and five grandchildren. She was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include; her husband, Cleo Edwards of Waldenburg; one son, Scott Cathey Turner of Egypt; one daughter, Ginger Pequita Turner of Durant, Iowa; two sisters, Virginia Ann Turner and Gladys Stuart, both of Newport; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was born in Tuckerman May 27, 1930. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church for 20 years. He was a deacon in the Faith Baptist Church for 13 years and was instrumental in the founding of the church which was orgainzed in 1963. He was owner and operator of the Village Fabric Center of Newport. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Gates Turner of Newport, one daughter, Paula Jean Turner of the home; his mother, Minnie Hennessee Turner of Newport; two brothers, Charles L. Turner of Newport, Scott Turner of Weiner. Services will be in the Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery. She was born Nov. 22, 1900 in Sharp County and was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. She was the widow of Early Turner. She is survived by one son, Charles "Blackie" Turner of Newport; one brother, Raymond Hennessee of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Turner; three sons, Scott Turner of Weiner and Charles Turner and Paul Turner, both of Newport; a brother, Owen Turner of Bradford; four sisters, Mrs. Rosie Daniels, Miss Viola Turner and Mrs. Chester Guffey, all of Newport, and Mrs. Rena Crawford of Walnut Ridge; and eight grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Cathey) Turner of the home; two sons, Sam Turner of Springdale; Dwight Turner of Newport; one daughter, Charlotte Melton of Bentonville and six grandchildren. "Pank" Turner of Route 3, Newport, a resident of Jackson county for 28 years, died early Sunday at a local hospital. He was 80 years old. Mr. Turner, a retired farmer, came here from Sharp county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Turner; two sons, E. A. Turner, Jr. of Route 2, Newport, and Owen Turner of Walnut Ridge; four daughters, Miss Vesta Turner of the home, Mrs. Robert Guffey of Route 2, Mrs. Rosie Daniels of Route 1, and Mrs. Ray D. Crawford, of Walnut Ridge. Thirty-four grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive. Turner Dies Monday Mrs. Mary Frances Turner of Newport, died in a local hospital yesterday. She was 87 years old. A member of the Baptist Church, she was born in Sharp County in Arkansas March 21, 1871. She is survived by four daughters: Miss Vesta Turner and Mrs. Ben Daniels of Newport; Mrs. Robert Guffey, Tuckerman; and Mrs. Ray Crawford, Walnut Ridge; two sons; E. A. Turner of Newport and Owen of Paragould; one sister, Mrs. Deck Bradley of Tuckerman, 34 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. today. Burial will be in Cheshier Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Turner, William Turner, Marvin Daniels, Leaman Crawford, Frank Turner, and Paul Turner, all grandsons of the deceased.
