Ellis William Henry Ellis, age 83, a retired painter, died March 31 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock after a long illness. He was born October 24, 1893 in Arkadelphia, and had resided in Malvern since 1943. He was married December 21, 1921 to Miss Fairy Harrington and was a Baptist. Surviving other than his wife are one son, Marvin T. Ellis of Malvern; one brother, Bolan Ellis of Tennessee; four sisters, Mrs. Cadda Addinkon of Marlow, Okla., Mrs. Zenia Hutson of New Jersey, Mrs. Claude Bradshaw of Arkadelphia and Mrs. Vergie Cash of Camden; and two grandchildren. Funeral service will be in the chapel of Atkinson Funeral Home at two o’clock Saturday with Elders Sheppard Mooney and Herman Grigsby officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery with Clinton Sanders, Horace Grigsby, Elmer Nugent, Randall Henson, Luther Cunningham and Marvin Dial as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Otto Hightower, Bud Wallace, Bud McElhannon and Haywood McDougal. (Malvern Dailey Record, April 1,1977)
