All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Hilda Irene Wells 01-30-2005 THE RUSSELLVILLE COURIER Hilda Wells Hilda Irene Wells, 82, of Hollis died Friday, Jan. 28 2005 at St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. She was born Feb. 14, 1922 in Talihina, Okla., to the late George Cravens and Hattie (Berry) Martin. She was a homemaker, a mother and a past Ava, Arkansas school teacher, where she taught in a one-room schoolhouse. She was a past postmaster for Hollis, Arkansas, and a poultry and cattle farmer. She was a member of the Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church where she also played piano. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Henry Wells; a son, Gary Don Wells; a brother, Larry Cravens; a sister, Joy Pack; and a great-granddaughter, Cassie Dawn Christian. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Heneretta and Larry Woods of Hollis; five grandchildren, Donna and Ronnie Hance of Steve; Tommy Wells of Leola; Steve and Suzanne Woods of Hollis; Theresa Woods of Houston, Mo.; and Dr. Mark and Krista Woods of Ozark, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren, Carrie Dawn Hance, Lane Steven Woods, Whitney Jessica Woods, Kane Bannon Woods, Emma Lauren Woods, Madison Love Woods, and Greta Linnea Woods; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Homer Wells, Betty Wells, Oval and Willa Dean Blythe, all of Hollis; Betty Cravens of Cherryvale, Kan.; Dave Pack of Quitman; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Valley Home Church in Hollis with the Rev. Kenny Vosburg and the Rev. Johnny Bratton officiating. Interment will be at Nooner Cemetery in Steve under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Wells, Jeremy Wells, Shane Wells, Don Dale, Kenny Howard, Wayne Whiley and Tommy Cravens. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Simmons, Larry Gene Cravens, Jack Thomas and Riley Tucker. Memorials may be made to the Perryville Senior Adult Center, P.O. Box 655, Perryville, Ark. 72126. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
