Marvin & Hulda Geneva Brookshire. She was predeceased by a sister, Hattie Freniere; and brother, Joseph Brookshire of Hot Springs. She was a charter member of First Church of Nazarene of Hot Springs and the Sanctuary Sunday School Class. Survivors include one daughter & son-in-law, Georgia & A. J. Jack Davies of Downy, California; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leland D. & Clara Garner of Hot Springs and Eddie L. & Beverly Garner of Downy, California; a sister-in-law, Ethel Brookshire of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A real estate salesman for Cooper Properties of Hot Springs Village, he was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, spent most of his life in Van Buren and was the former owner and operator of Chitwood Cleaners. He was predeceased by one daughter, Lee Ann, in 1966 and his parents, Wanda & Reggie Chitwood. Survivors include one daughter, Sidney Sue Franzemeier of Fort Smith; four sons, Michael Chitwood and Mark Chitwood, both of Van Buren, Reggie Lee Chitwood of Bryant and John David Chitwood of Hot Springs; two granddaughters, Christine Headley and Aubrey King, both of Fort Smith and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Headley of Fort Smith. Saturday, March 26, 1994 KURT A. BOTZEK with picture Kurt August Botzek, 81, of Hot Springs died Thursday, March 24, 1994, in Hot Springs Village. A native of Siemianowice, Germany, he was a resident of Hot Springs for 22 years. He owned and operated pine Haven Resort for the past 22 yrs., was a member of Who’s Who in the Republican Party and a life member of the Republican Task Force. Survivors include his wife, Erica Botzek of Atlanta; one son, Peter Botzek of Chicago; one daughter, Sonja Striker of Dunwoody, Georgia; two sisters, Christine Spencer of Hot Springs and Eva Reindl of Munich, Germany; and two granddaughters, Linda and Karen Striker of Atlanta. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Gross Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Royall A. Yount officiating. The cremains will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery. ORVIL MASONER Orvil Masoner, 69, of Hot Springs died Thursday, March 24, 1994, in a local nursing home. He was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Lonsdale to Y. E. & Susie Beckwith Masoner. He was a carpenter and a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include one sister, Eva Lena Brown of Hazen; and nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Hot Springs, she was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Otis Sanders, and two sons, Raymond Sander and R. C. Sanders. Survivors include two sons, Jim & Jan Sanders of Royal and Arvle & Martha Sanders of Pearcy; four daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine & Louis Lawler of Hot Springs, Flora Mae & Vernice Hill and Norma & J. SZCZEPANSKI NORMAN -- Marie Szczepanski, 73, of Norman died Friday, March 25, 1994, in a Hot Springs hospital. She was born April 30, 1920, in Chicago to Stanley Ciemiega and Magdeline Kuhaichek Ciemiega. She was a resident of the Norman area for the past 13 years and a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Mount Ida and the Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Fred Szczepanski of Norman; her son and his wife, Charles & Mary Stefanski of Chicago; her step-son and his wife, Fred Jr. & Ruth Szczepanski of Chicago; three grandchildren, Chuck Jr., Trina and Eric Stefanaski; one brother, Frankie Ciemiega of Phoenix; one sister, Josephine Dembeck of Chicago; and one niece.
