All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** The Sentinel - Record Hot Springs National Park, Garland County, Arkansas OBITUARIES JESSIE MILLER BENTON -- Jessie Miller, 89, of Benton died Thursday, July 24, 1977, in a Hot Springs hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1907, in Saline County to Joseph A. and millie Lou Hogue Miller, he was a member of First Methodist Church, the Lions club and clerk retired from Alcoa. He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Miller. Survivors include a son, Harvey Miller of Hot Springs; two daughters, Laverne Martin of Conway and Janice Warmack of Pensacola, Florida; two brothers, Dallas Miller of El Dorado and Hammons Miller of Bauxite; three sisters, Myrle Smith of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Minnie Hill of Benton and Millie Lou Craig of Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at AShby Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in new Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. ELIZABETH B. MITCHELL Elizabeth Brown Mitchell, 69, of Hot Springs for 42 years died Wednesday, July 23, 1977, in a local hospital. Born Oct. 31, 1927, at Wilmont, Arkansas, she was affiliated with Christian Ministries and a maintenance field represtative for Department of Human Services. Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate of Wilmont high School in 1945 and was Valedictorian of her graduating high school class. She graduated in 1949 from Hendrix College, President of Criterion Club for two years; a Jaycette member and a public school teacher. She was county director for the Garland County Public Welfare and also assistant regional administrator and assisstant director of Field Operations for the Arkansas Department of Human Services at 25 years of service. Survivors include two sons, Clayton Mitchell of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and Mark Mitchell of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a daughter, Ann Robertson of Russsellville, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Ariane Stanage of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and a grandson, Matthew Stanage of Russellville, Arkansas. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Brooks officiating. Pallbearers will be John Kenndy, Steve Edwards, Shane Aitken, Bill McMillan, Michael McMillan and Judge Homer Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Sean Andrews, Dr. Richard Gardial, Dr. George Fotioo, caregivers at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center and employees of the Department of Human Services. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to Christian Ministries.
