SYLVIA PROSTAK Mrs. Sylvia Prostak, 70, died Saturday, June 20, 1970, afternoon in a local hospital. She was a native of Michigan and had been a resident of Hot Springs for the past 15 years. She was a member of the grand Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Ted George of San Diego, California, and John George of Benton Harbor, Michigan; four sisters, Mrs. Altena Pappas of Elkhart, Indiana, Mrs. Lydia Meek of Caruthersville, Missouri, Mrs. Illa Johnstone of Wetaskiwis, Canada, and Mrs. Elthel Tivina of Flint, Michigan; three brothers, Ira Monroe of Flint, Michigan, Ora Monroe of Ponaka, Canada, and Frank Monroe of Flint, Michigan. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Caruth Funeral Home. CARL BRINCKMAN Services for Carl H. Brinckmann, 80, who died Friday, June 19, 1970, in a local hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. today in Gross Mortuary Chapel with Rev. M. J. Timbs, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Paul F. Schelman, Arbra Graves, J. Eddie McGee, George Rogers, Willis Pittman, and James M. Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Ernest Layton and the member s of the Mens Bible Class of the First Christian Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Organ or Building Fund. MRS. VIRGINIA CANNON Mrs. Virginia H. Cannon, 77, died Saturday, June 20, 1970, in San Leandro, California. She was born in Hot Springs and had resided in California for the past 20 years. Mrs. Cannon was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Billie B. Martin, St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Oma Trammel, Hot Springs; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Gross Mortuary will announce funeral arrangements. ERNEST L. HARPER Ernest L. Harper, 66, died Saturday, June 20, 1970, evening in a local hospital. He was a life resident of Hot Springs and was the owner of J. E. Harper and Son Furniture Company. He was the second generation in the furniture firm and had been active in the store for the past 38 years. Mr. Harper was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He was also a director of the Ozark Bath House. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen Harper, Hot springs; a son, William E. Harper, Hot Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Aleta Jo Briggs, Groton, Connecticut; two sisters, Mrs. Connie Luck, Tucson, Arizona, and Mrs. Laverne Mahone, Macon, Georgia; and ten grandchildren. Gross Mortuary will announce funeral arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s.
