Born June 30, 1898, in Mount Ida, she was a member of Grand Ave. United Methodist Church and AARP. She was predeceased by two husbands, John Freeman and John Burneson, and her parents, William and Laura Simpson Alley. Survivors include one brother-in-law, T.H. Smith of Hot Springs; one sister-in-law, Dorry Alley of Everett, Wash.; one step-son; step-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Fri. at Gross Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Mark Smith, Sam Tyson and Scott Carter. Burial will be in Whittington Cemetery, Mount Ida. GERTRUDE E. EVANS Gertrude E. Evans, 88, of Hot Springs died Thurs., Feb. 24, 2000, in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 15, 1911, in Cherryvale, Kan. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Bolvin of Merrillville, Ind.; one son, Donald Morrow of Renton, Wash.; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held in Kansas. Local arrangements are by Gross Funeral Home. CHEYANNA GARNER with picture Cheyanna Garner, 4 months, died Tues., Feb. 29, 2000, in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 11, 1999, at Hot Springs. Survivors include her father, Craig Whittington of Hot Springs; her mother, Shellie Garner of Hot Springs; one brother, Craig Andrew Whittington II of Hot Springs; and one half brother, Marcus Leonard Whittington of Monticello. Services will be 3 p.m. Thurs. at McGill cemetery with Brother Don Kemp officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Turner, Charles Peters, James Sheets, Otha Terry, Steve Terry, Betty Terry, Billy Turner, Kellie Garner, Renee Gordon, Sharon Moore, Tim Moore and Randy Terry.
