"Jack" Hampton, 73, of Hot Springs, died Friday, March 1, 1991, at a local hospital. He was a retired carpenter and of the Protestant faith. Survivors include three brothers, Don Hampton, George Hampton and Robert Hampton, all of Hot Springs; one sister, Susie Mathew of Mountain Pine; and several nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of DePauw University, Green Castle, Indiana, and a member of Sigma Nu-International Fraternity. A colonel in the Air Force, he retired at Albrook Air Force Base in Panama City, Panama after 31 yrs. of service. He flew 45 combat missions as a bomber and pilot in the South Pacific.
