He was a graduate of Lamar High School in Houston where he was an athlete and voted the most handsome senior. He attended the Univ. of Texas and the Univ. of Texas and the Univ. of Houston. He was active in youth sports and was a football coach for the Houston Elementary school Gray Y Program. He continued his work in youth sports after relocating to Hot Springs. Survivors include two sons, John Allen Thompson, and Norman Bradley Thompson; his parents, Joan and Howard Thompson; two brothers, Marty and Michael Thompson; and one sister, Joann Thompson Simpson. Survivors include his wife, Matricia Ann Buck Dugan of Hot Springs; three sons, Dennis Dugan, Richy Joe Dugan and Shawn Dugan, all of Hot Springs; two daughters, Mirene Dugan of Amarillo, Texas, and April Concepcion of Germany; two brothers, Robert Dugan of Williamsburg, Virginia, and John Dugan of Hot Springs; six sisters, Juanita Spencer, Dorothy Weatherford and Patricia Dewitt, all of Hot Springs, Lillian Anderson of Dardanelle, Aliene Dugan of Abilene, Texas, and Vivian Turner of Albany, Oregan; and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. thurs. at the Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Horace Gray of the Lakeside Baptist Church officiating. He had been a lifetime resident of Hot Springs and was a retired painting contractor. He was well known as a member of one of the oldest pioneer families of Hot Springs. the Housley family owned the first dry good store in this area. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth David Housley of Hot Springs; two sons, Boby Housley of Dallas, and John Housley of Santa Clara, California; one brother, Billy Housley of Hot Springs; one sister, Catherine Brenner; and two grandsons. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Powell of Oaklawn Methodist Church, and Dr. M. J. Timbs of the First Christian Church officiating.
