Mon., Oct. 26, 1981 page 12 LENA BELL ********* Lena E. Bell, 83, died Sat., Oct. 24, 1981, in a local nursing home. She was a native of New Albany, Mississippi, a resident of Hot Springs for the past 81 yrs., a retired beautician, a member of the Grand Ave. United Methodist Church choir and the National Bowlers Assoc. Survivors include, one son, Dr. A. Howard Bell of Madison, Mississippi; three sisters, Mae Nichols, Florence Thomas, and Francis Ayers, all of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Tues. in Gross Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James R. McLean officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin Northrop, Herb Brenner, Jim Groves, Elmer Stokes, Ren Caldwell and Willis Kilgore. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert B. Clark, Dr. Mark W. Jumper, Clarence Nichols, David Kilgore, Gene Flannes, the staff of Lakewood Convalescent Home and Forest View Convalescent Manor. DEWEY HORN ********** GLENWOOD--Dewey Horn, 79, of Caddo Gap, died Sun., Oct. 25, in a Hot springs hospital. He was a retired merchant and a member of the Caddo Gap Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Horn of Caddo Gap; one brother, Amos Horn of Mt. Ida; one sister, Hazel Stafford of Caddo Gap; two nephews and two nieces. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tues. in the Caddo gAp Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Don Coates, Danny Ponder, Eugen Horn, Leon Horn, Elbert West and Teddy Stafford. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Glenwood. J. C. HUNT ********** Services for J. C. Hunt, 56, who died Sat., Oct. 24, 1981, will be 11 a.m. today in Gross Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Clement officiating. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Victor Mann of Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Morris Tucker, Leroy Hughes, Mike Reed, Bud Rogers, Jim Heramb and James Vhunn. Honorary pallbearers are Harry Keck, Milton Nobles, the staff of the intensive care unit of Ouachita Memorial Hospital, Dr. John H. Brunner, Dr. James H. French, Dr. W. Martin Eisele and Dr. C. R. Lovell and staff. ORVIS LOWREY ************ Orvis J. Lowrey, 74, died Sun., Oct. 25, 1981, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Hot springs, a U.S.Navy veteran of WW II, a member of the Central Baptist Church and a retired postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. Survivors include his wife, Ruby I. Lowrey of Hot Springs; one son, Dr. C. W. Lowrey of Alexandria, Louisiana; one daughter, Mrs. Pat Wooten of Hot Springs; one brother, John T. Lowrey of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Doris Clark and Lois Ellis, both of Hot Springs; five grandchildren; one grreat-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. today in Gross Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James E. Hill Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Standiford, Ralph Hunter, Al Knupps, Lloyd Champion Sr., Joe Lowrey and Bill Lankford. Honorary pallbearers are Jay B. Humphries Sr., Dr. Ralph Patterson, Dr. H. Oct. 24, 1981, in a Little Rock hospital. She was a native of Hot Spring County and a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church of God near Malvern. Survivors include her husband, Dewey Tankersley of Malvern; two sons, D.L. Tankersley of Bismarck and Milton Tankersley of Malvern; three brothers, Ray Hughes and Fay Hughes, both of Donaldson, and John Albert Hughes of Arkadelphia; four sisters,Beatrice Lackey, Mary Petty and Anna Mae Shinn, all of Malvern, and Loveta Cox of Carson, California; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. Tues. in Prairie Bayou Church of Christ near Bismarck with the Revs. John Lackey and Fred Vinning officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern. GUY WHITLEY *********** ARKDAELPHIA--Guy Whitley, 76, of Caney, died Sun., Oct. 25,1981, at his residence. He was a retired Reynolds Metal Co. employee and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Rellie Hardin Whitley of Caney; five sons, Lyndle Whitley, Marlin Whitley and Don Whitley, all of Malvern; Dean Whitley of Okolona; four daughters, Bernice Smith of Hot Springs, Delphine Wright of Kirby, Earlene Phillips of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, and Earnestin Franklin of Amity; two brothers, Grady Whitley of Bismarck and Floyd Whitley of Arkadelphia; one sister, Minnie Dyess of Bismarckk; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 2:30 p.m. today in Caney Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Freeman Crow and Hollis McDermott officiating. Burial will be in Caney Cemetery under the direction of Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
