Anderson, 79, died Sept. 24. She was a life resident of Garland County. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Jo Ann Swayze of Arkadelphia, Mrs. Pauline Thurman, Mrs. Mary Frances Heitman and Mrs. Lucille Dunn, all of Hot Springs; three sons, Mitchell Anderson, Odis Anderson and Louis Anderson, all of Hot Springs; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-granchildren. Serivces were held on Sept. 27 in the Bethlehem Baptist Church and burial was in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Caruth Funeral Home. GELESSIE BALDWIN Mrs. Gelessie (Bobbie) Baldwin, 64, a former resident of Hot Springs, died Sept. 20 in Lompoc, Calif. Survivors include a son, Jerry T. Baldwin and two grandsons, Milton and Larry, all of Lompoc. Funeral services were held on Sept. 21 in the Starbuck Mortuary Chapel in Lompoc. Graveside services were held Sept. 22 at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, Calif. ROBERT B. BASS Robert Benjamin Bass, 72, died Sept. 19. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Bass of Malvern; three sons, Robert L. Bass of Georgia, James E. Bass of Calif., and Roy T. Bass of Hot Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hall and Mrs. Wanda Mays, both of Malvern; two brothers, Forney Bass of Magnolia, and J. T. Bass of Malvern; one sister, Mrs. Pauline Morris of Texas; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Services were held on Sept. 22 in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern. Burial was in Oakridge Cemetery. MRS. EVA BROOKS Eva Steele Brooks, 83, died Sept. 22. She had lived in Hot Springs for several yrs. Survivors include her husband, Daniel C. Brooks of Hot Springs; one son, Ray Brooks of Hot Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Davis of Mountain Pine; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were held on Sept. 24 in the Caruth Funeral Home Chapel and burial was in Glazier Peau Cemetery. WILLIE W. CASS Willie W. Cass, 91, died Sept. 19 in Farmersville, Calif. She was a native of Avant, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Cass, Farmersville; six daughters, Mrs. Ted Phillips and Mrs. Mollie King, both of Farmersville, Mrs. Ethel Burch of Visalia, Calif., Mrs. Anna Mae Hill of Royal, Ark., Mrs. Lessie Fisher of Buckville, Ark., and Mrs. Lizzie Mayberry of Mt. Ida, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Etta Abbott of Hot Springs; one half-brother, Arthur Avant of Hot Springs; 26 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Farmersville. WINNIE CORDER Mrs. Winnie Ola “Mickey” Corder, 56, died Sept. 18. She was a life resident of Hot Springs. Survivors include her husband, Ray Corder of Hot Springs; two sons, Carl R. Hicks and Mark Corder, both of Hot Springs; one brother, Tom Phillips of Grand Prairie, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Athie Bradshaw and Syble Lucas, both of Hot Springs, and Alma Williams of Mabelvale; her mother, Mrs. Roxie Phillips of Hot Springs and six grandchildren. Services were held on Sept. 22 in Gross Mortuary Chapel and burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. INFANT CRANFORD Infant Brandy Christiana Cranford died Sept. 25. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Cranford of Morrilton; one brother, Brian; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Cranford of Malvern and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thornton of Hot Springs. Graveside services were held on Sept. 26 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. ADDIE CUMMINGS Addie Cummings, 88, of Hot Springs, died Sept. 24 in Camden. Survivors include one son, William Cummings of Malvern; four daughters, Mrs. Margie McCroskey and Mrs. Lola Smith, both of Hot Springs, Mrs. Hazel McDade of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Clara Walthall of Camden; one brother, Caldin Caroll of Malvern; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Broughton and Mrs. Josie Kelly, both of Hot Springs; ten grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services were held on sept. 25 at Proctor Chapel in Camden with burial in turner Cemetery near Reader. JEWELL E. GLOVER Jewell Edgar Glover, 71, died Sept. 20 in Gurdon. He was a former resident of Mountain Pine. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Geogia L. Glover of Gurdon; three sons, Wayne Edgar Glvoer and Billie Joe Glover, both of Benton and Jimmy Douglas Glover of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Wetherington of Hot Springs and Mrs. LaVern Hancock of DeQueen; two step-sons, Harlon A. Daniels of Ft. Smith and Arliss A. Daniels of Ft. Lewis. Wash.; a step-daughter, Omega Bowman of El Paso; four brothers, C. C. Glover of Curtis, Ark., Hubert Glover and Q. K. Glover, both of Gurdon and Dan Glover of Benton and 10 grandchildren. Services were held on Sept. 22 in the Gross Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. ROGER L. HENDERSON Roger L. Henderson, 43, of Hot Springs, died Sept. 20 in North Little Rock. He had lived in Hot Springs for three and a half years. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Carroll Henderson; two step-daughters, Sharon Pearson of Los Angeles and Miss Sandra Llouir of Hot Springs; his mother, Mrs. Violet Craig of North Little Rock; a brother, Tommy Henderson of El Paso, Tex. and a sister, Mrs. Norma Grawin of Solona Beach, California. Services were held on Sept. 22 at the Owens Funeral Home Chapel in North Little Rock. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock. HENRY HOPE Henry Hope, 79, a longtime resident of Hot Springs, died Sept. 21. Survivors include his wife, Mae Hope of Hot Springs; two sons, J.C. Hope and Clyde Hope, both of Hot springs; three daughters, Ruby Neighbors and Henrietta Breshears, both of Hot Springs, and Aline Adair of Antioch, Calif.; one brother, Walter Hope of Hot Springs; four sisters, Lesley Pitts of Ola, Jessie Launter and Christine Causey, both of Hot Springs, and Maggie Bryant of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held on Sept. 24 in the Caruth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. MAUDE LEE JONES Mrs. Maude Lee Jones, 89, died Sept. 19. Survivors include oen son, Kermit Jones of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. W. O. Havens of Hot Springs and Mrs. W. L. Howard of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Lewis of Havana (Yell County); 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services were held Sept. 20 at Hixon Brothers Funeral Chapel in Monroe, with burial in Riverview Cemetery at Monroe. ETHEL KING Ethel C. King, 84, died Sept. 25. She had no known survivors. Services were held on Sept. 26 in the Caruth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Valley Cemetery. KENT F. LAYSON Kent F. Layson, 65, born Francis Silvala in New Jersey, died Sept. 16 in Calif. He is survied by his wife, Annie Layson of Mountain Pine; and one aunt, Mrs. Elsie Dicker of Hancock, Mich. Graveside services were held at Rose Hill California. MRS. JEAN MAHIN Mrs. Jean Mahin, 81, died Sept. 22. She had lived in Hot Springs for three yrs. She is survived by a brother, Garland Dillard of Overland Park, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Betty Wright of New York City and two nieces. Servies were held on Sept. 24 in the Gross Mortuary Chapel and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. WILLIAM W. SELPH, JR. William Wesley Selph Jr., 24, died Sept. 20 in Hot Springs. He had lived here for four yrs. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathy Selph; a daughter, Holly Michelle Selph of Hot Springs; his parents, William W. Selph Sr. of Texarkana and Mrs. Juanita Selph of Hot Springs; two brothers, John Thomas Selph, U. S. Navy and Michael Benjamin Selph of Hot Springs; two sisters, Donna Kay Hughes of Hot Springs and Billy Jo McCaully of Texas. Services were held on Sept. 22 in the Gross Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in Bluff City. LUCY ANN STAGGS Lucy Ann Staggs, 74, died Sept. 22. She had lived in Hot Springs for several yrs. Survivors include one son, Bill Hampton of Dianee, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Eddie Jean Devine of Hot Springs and Mrs. Boots Rustad of Wis.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandhcild. Serivces were held on Sept. 23 in the Caruth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. ROY SYLER Roy Syler, 28, died Sept. 18 in traffic accident in Perry County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Karen Mitchell Syler of Perryville; one daughter, Patricia Ann Syler of the home; his parents, Robert Syler of Hot Springs and Mrs. Willodean James of Nola (Scott County); his step-father, Cecil James of Nola; one brother, Roscoe Wagner of Mountain Pine; two step-brothers, Glenn James of Dardanelle and Gary James of Gravelly (Yell County); one step-sister, Mrs. Katy Collins of Texas; and his grandmother, Mrs. Eloise Fowler of Nola. Services were held on Sept. 20 in the Nola Church of Christ. Burial was in ParksCemetery at Nola by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville (Yell County). LENETTE WEHUNT Lenette G. Wehunt, 47, died Sept. 19. She had lived in Hot Springs for 20 yrs. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Gothard of Hot Springs and Denise Riley of Dallas, Tex.; her mother, Mrs. Laura Quinn of Hot Springs; two sisters, Laura Stevens of Huntsville, Ala. and Mrs. Nellie Ruth Fields of Pine Bluff and three grandchildren, Lisa, Lori, Leah Burchfield, all of Hot Springs. Services were held on Jan. 21 in the Gross Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in Grace Land Cemetery in Pine Bluff. ********************************************************************************
