Hunter was still being held in the Garland County jail without formal charge Wed. night in connection with the shotgun death of her 46 year=old accountant husband, William T. (Tommy) Hunter. Prosecuting Attorney David B. Whittington said he was awaiting the results of tests made at State Police headquarters in Little Rock before filing any formal charges against Hunter's wife, the former, Mrs. Bonnie Connelly, 45. The prosecutor said also that he expected a report from Garland County Deputy Coroner W. R. Lee today on the autopsy performed Tues. morning. Death has been attributed to a gunshot wound. Whittington would neither confirm nor deny that his office had taken a statement from Mrs. Hunter. She was taken into custody almost immediately after officers, answering her call to come to the Hunter home on Majestic Lodge Road Monday afternoon, found Hunter in the bedroom with a shotgun wound in his chest. He had been shot once in the chest with a 16-gauge shotgun. The gun, believed to have been used, was found in the yard by officers and sent to State Police headquarters, along with other items that may be used as evidence in the case, authorities here said. Hunter apparently had been dead several hours when officers arrived, accordijg to information obtained by Sentinel-Record reporters. Mrs. Hunter was taken Monday night to Little Rocl for paraffin tests to determine if she had fired a gun recently. Because of the nature of such tests, considerable time is required in determining results, the newspaper was advised by state police yesterday. Mrs. Hunter had previously been convicted for the April 28, 1959 fatal shooting of her first husband, Joseph E. Connelly, receiving a three-year sentence in Garland Circuit court Sept. 22, 1960 on a charge of manslaughter. It is understood the couple lived alone at the Majestic Lodge road home. Sheriff Searcy was reported continuing his investigation yesterday and was said to have returned to the home yesterday morning in connection with that investigation. FUNERAL SERVICES for HUNTER will be held at 2 p.m. today t Gross chapel with the Rev. Lehamn Webb, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Edward Smith, Clarence W. Jordan, Dale Haynes, Dr. Guinn Daniel, Carl A. Crow, and Weldon C. Brawner. Honorary pallbeaers will be Olice Ray Brawner, Herbert A. Riley, Elisha J. Weston, Jacob L. King, R. Julian Glover, Richard Aandry, James E. Hussey, T. L.
