Charlton at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 28 days. He had been in feeble health for several years. He was the father of 14 children, 9 of whom survive him with 44 grand and 41 great grand children. His wife preceded him to the great beyond 11 year ago. He has been making his home with his children, who are Ida McCord, aged 60, Topeka, Kan., A.B. West, 58, Ottawa, Kas., John West, 56, our town marshal, Lon West, 49, Frisco section foreman, Koshkonong, Mrs. A.J. Charlton, 47, Grant West, 45, Blackoak, Rose Evans, 41, Rector, Elder Oscar West, 40, Ottawa, Kas., Vida Boles, 34, Koshkonong, all fine citizens. Mr. West was a Union soldier in the civil war; a good man with no enemies. He will be buried tomorrow in the Koshkonong grave yard by the side of his wife.
