Meadors, co-owner of the Central Insurance Agency, died Thursday at a Little Rock hospital. A native of Lonoke, he was born April 17, 1908. He was a graduate of State College of Arkansas, Peabody College and Columbia University and prior to coming to Morrilton, he had been Dean at Central Baptist College in Conway. He was in the insurance and real estate business and served as deacon in the First Baptist Church in Morrilton. He was a past president of the Morrilton Rotary Club, and was on the Board of Directors of the Morrilton Security Bank. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Edwards Meadors; two sons, Allan and John Meadors of Little Rock; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Dean Mainord of Conway; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Ferguson of Conway and nine grandchildren. Funeral service was Saturday at 10 am at the First Baptist Church by Rev. Coy Sample and Rev. Glen McCalman and burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery by Harris Funeral Service. Pallbearers were Dr. C. Ray Williams, Jack Jumper, Phil Howe, Robert D. Harris, Charles B. Owens and Manuel Allison. Honorary pallbearers were Howard E. Jones, Security Bank president and members of the Board of the bank and deacons of the First Baptist Church in Morrilton. Petit Jean Country Headlight, Conway County, Wednesday, Sept 20, 1989 ***************************************************************************** Mrs. Ruth Edwards Meadors, 80, of Morrilton died Friday, September 15, 1989.She was the widow of A.J.Meadors. She was born August 9, 1909 in Mist, a daughter of James R. and Bessie Stinson Edwards. She was a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, Allan Meadors and John Meadors, both of Little Rock; one daughter, Mrs. James C. Mainord of Conway; three brothers, Dr. Hugh Edwards of Searcy, James R. Edwards of Batesville and Charles Edwards of Conway; one sister, Mrs. Alton Foster of Bella Vista; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Graveside services were 11 am Saturday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway with burial by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
