Bivens Wed., 04 Aug 1954 Log Cabin --from the Log Cabin Democrat, Wed., 04 Aug 1954 ALFRED H. BIVENS, 68, RESIDENT OF ROWLETT COMMUNITY, DIES A 68-year-old Greenbrier farmer, Alfred H. Bivens, died early yesterday at Memorial Hospital after a year's illness. A native of Quitman and lifelong resident of Faulkner County, he lived in the Rowlett community. Masonic rites were held at 3 p.m. today at Guy Baptist Church and interment was at Copperas Springs Cemetery. The Rev. J.N. Farrish and B.G. Hogan officiated. Survivors are his wife; four sons, Herman of Quitman, J.D. Pasadena, Tex., E.J. of Florence, Ala., and Bentley of North Little Rock; four daughters, Mrs. Eva Lou Fielder of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. Nina Frank Glover of North Little Rock, Mrs. Ada Clendenin and Mrs. Maxine Sims of Quitman; four brothers, Will and Ernest of Quitman, Arch of Oklahoma City, Okla., and R.L. of Little Rock; five sisters, Mrs. Cora Hopkins and Mrs. Lula Avra of Little Rock, Mrs. Mary White of Searcy, Mrs. Josie Morris of Doniphan, Missouri, and Mrs. Annie Bailey of Quitman. Active pallbearers were J.A. Harris, Dr. Robert Smith, Lewis Bivens, Joe Deal Shelby, Roy B. Rowlett, Jim Bailey, Loyd White, and Charles Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Fielder, Dr. Kellar Lieblong, Dr. B.F. Banister, M.E. Price, J.C. Rickles, Junior Doggett, I.H. DeBusk, E.S. Henderson, Jim Sparkman, J.H. Karber, Moses Flowers, and Glover Joyner. Masonic pallbearers were I.H. Fielder, Fred Wilson, Elmo Glover, Henry Clendenin, A.T. Fielder, the Rev. J.N. Farrish, Joe Castleberry, and Fred Wiedower.
