 Emmett Eugene McAlister, 77, of Fordyce, died Friday June 8, 2007. Mr. 
McAlister was born in Dallas County, Arkansas on April 16, 1930 to the late 
Walter G. & Nora Spear McAlister. He was a Methodist and retired from 
Georgia-Pacific.

      He is survived by his three daughters, Charlotte Lenora Shepherd & 
husband Bud of Arkadelphia, AR, Emily Eugenia Givens & husband Gene of 
Sparkman, AR, Myra Jane Oliver & husband Todd of Fordyce, AR; seven 
grandchildren, Blake Shepherd & wife Heather, Gena Rae Givens, Joseph Shepherd, 
Gregory Givens & wife Jordan, April Givens, T.J. Oliver, & Meagan Oliver. Mr. 
McAlister was preceded in death by three brothers, Benny Palmer, Gladden 
McAlister, Jimmy McAlister; & two sisters, Floy Palmer, & Mildred McAlister; 
and a host of nieces & nephews.

      Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the Benton Funeral Home 
Chapel in Fordyce. Burial will be in Tanyard Cemetery with the Rev. Benny 
Palmer & Rev. Mike White officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 
until 8:00 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements
