All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Annie Kathryn Dykes Franklin Annie Kathryn Dykes Franklin, 80, of Kingsland, died Sunday August 19, 2007 at the Dallas County Medical Center. She was born February 9, 1927, at Kingsland, a daughter of the late William Louis Dykes & Ludie Ethel West Dykes. Mrs. Franklin will be remembered by many for her talent in cooking delicious meals. She was a charter member of the Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church, which was started as a mission church by Bro. A.D. Livingston in June, 1949. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Louis Lamar Franklin, one sister, Grace Stell, and three brothers, Robert Sanford Dykes, Odis Dykes, & Charles Dykes. Mrs. Franklin is survived by two son and their wives, Gene Franklin & Mary Ann from Kingsland and their children Gina Sifford from Houston, TX & Mitzi Hollis from Kingsland; Joe Franklin and Linda from Kingsland & their children David Franklin from Sheridan, & Melody Williams from Fordyce; one sister, Lorene Brandon from Kingsland; one brother J.W. Dykes from Conway; and 9 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Franklin was a resident of the Dallas County Nursing Home for the past six years. She felt blessed with all the special care that every staff member gave her. Funeral services are Monday, August 20, 2007 at Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church with the Brother Rick Bolin & Brother A.D. Livingston officiating. Burial was in Kingsland Cemetery.
