FBI files in Washington identified the victim by fingerprints as E. J. Jackson, about 67. When picked up here last week, he gave the name of Joe Miles, Nashville, Tenn. Police picked up the man near the Elm-North King Street neighborhood where residents had reported a "hobo" going from house to house. He was placed in the City Jail in the morning and found beside his bunk about 7 p.m., strips of a blanket tied to his neck and the bed. Death was by strangulation. Efforts to locate relatives of Jackson have failed. Police in Ft. Smith, Ark., reported that had picked him up on more than one occasion. He gave the Ft. Smith authorities a home address of Van Buren, Ark., and his birthplace as Johnson, Tenn. However, Johnson police had no knowledge of the man. Since his death, he has been kept in a funeral home here. Roberts said early today (Thursday) that a burial was tentatively set for the afternoon in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery; Hixson FuneralHome was in charge of services. Jackson was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, reddish gray hair. He carried no papers or baggage. ************************************************************************ While doing some newspaper research today, I came across this article. It struck me that someone may be searching for this "missing link". Jo
