All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Hazel Beatrice Collins September 18, 2002 Jonesboro Sun Hazel Beatrice Collins, 94, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at the Craighead County Nursing Center. Born in Jonesboro, she was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the Jonesboro and Otwell areas. She had been a Valley View School class sponsor and a member of Jonesboro Christian Church, the Parent-Teacher Association, the Extension Homemakers Club and the Craighead County Historical Society. Survivors include two sons, Ellis Collins and Cletis Collins, both of Jonesboro; six daughters, Patsy Gerber, Nelda Simpkins, Fay Wimpy, Anna Lee Falls, Janis Davis and Sherry Turman, all of Jonesboro; 16 grandchildren, Gayle Gibson, Patti Thornton, Ricky Simpkins, Randy Simpkins, Kevin Simpkins, Dara McMillon, Sam Wimpy, Cindy Falls, Doug Falls and Derek Falls, Paton Collins, Kelly Collins, Brett Collins, Kim Davis, Karri Marshall and Heather Davis; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Carter E. Collins; her parents, George Nichols Mattix and Elizabeth King Mattix; and one grandchild, Erik Collins. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Roller- Farmers Union Home, with Bill Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in McDaniel Cemetery. Her grandsons will be pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Jonesboro Christian Church or to the Paragould Childrens Home in Paragould, AR.
