She was born May 20, 1940, in Cleveland, a daughter of Charles M. Howard and Bessie Dean Brewer Howard. Mrs. Beck was a member of the St. Mary痴 Catholic Church in North Little Rock. Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Beck; one son, Steven Beck of St. Vincent community; three daughters, Paula Bruce of Jacksonville, Donna Latch of North Little Rock, and Johna Gullett of Laughlin, Nevada, and Edith Guinn of Morrilton; and five grandchildren. Rosary was 6:30 p.m. June 1 at the Harris Chapel. Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Mary痴 Catholic Church in St. Vincent by the Rev. Charles Thessing. ED BURKE Joseph "Ed" Burke, 87, of Perryville died Wednesday May 31, 1995. He was born Feb. 13, 1908, near Nimrod, a son of Sampson Edward Burke and Alice Divine Burke. Mr. Burke was a school bus driver, a farmer and was am Army World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife, Evaline Wiles Burke; one son, Leon Burke of Perryville; one sister, Lillian Moore of Hermiston, Oregon; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cherry Hill Community Building by Bro. Sonny Stone. Burial was at Cherry Hill Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville. Pallbearers were Bobby Glover, Richard Yarberry, Arvie Wiles, George Harris, Billy Lee Wyles, and Paul Ray Wyles. JOAN COCHRAN Joan Wieburg Cochran, 87, of Clarksville died Sunday, June 4, 1995. She was born May 14, 1908, in Crawford County, the daughter of Frank and Mary Boyd Wieburg. She was the widow of Eddie Cochran. She was a life-long member of First Assembly of God where she served as Sunday School teacher several years. She was a member of Oakland Home Demonstration Club and was employed by Hurie School cafeteria many years. Survivors include one son, Owen Cochran of Morrilton; three daughters, Thelma Shock of Conway, Lena Laney of Camden, and Pam Cockrum of Clarksville; one sister, Dolly Brown of Prescott Valley, Arizona; two brothers, Clyde Wieburg of Encampment, Wyoming, and Omer Wieburg of Laramie, Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God by the Rev. Dada Kindrix. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery by Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. Davis, 87, of Perryville died Sunday, June 4, 1995. She was born Feb. 19, 1908, in Mayfield, Kentucky, a daughter of John S. and Mary Millsap Hale. She regularly attended the Perryville Senior Citizens Center. She was the widow of Roland Davis. Survivors include three sons, Lux Davis of Burdette, Nathan Davis of Perryville, and Donald Davis of El Paso, Texas; four daughters, Juanita Freeman of Russellville, Audrey Scharbor and Audie Viars, both of Perryville, and Sirlene Bonee of Westville, Indiana; 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Thornburg Southern Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary Hawkins. Burial was at Cherry Hill cemetery by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. C. O. GLENN C. O. "Buck" Glenn, 72, of Perry died Saturday, June 3, 1995. He was born April 28, 1923, in Perry, a son of William Aubrey Glenn and Mary McGhee Glenn. Mr. Glenn was a retired Mobil Oil dealer, a Navy World War II veteran and a member of the Perry Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Emery Glenn; two sons, Gary Michael Glenn of Maumelle, and Mark Douglas Glenn of Perry; and one daughter, Kathy Gibbs of Maumelle. Private graveside services were at Perry Cemetery by the Rev. Bill Buchanan. Burial was by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Memorials may be made to the Perry Methodist Church. LOLA HATLEY Mrs. Lola McGarity Hatley, 77, of Morrilton died Tuesday, June 6, 1995. She was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Sheridan, a daughter of Johnny and Ella McGarity. Survivors include her husband, William J. Hatley. The body was cremated. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. LEONE JONES Leone Violet Jones, 91, of Scotland died Tuesday, May 30, 1995. She was born April 18, 1904, in Scotland, daughter of Andrew Stuart Jones and Lucy Ellen Stanley Jones. Miss Jones was an elementary and high school teacher and taught over 40 years in Arkansas, Arizona and Georgia. She was a member of the Scotland Baptist Church. There were no immediate survivors. Funeral services were 10 a.m. June 2 at the Scotland Baptist Church by the Rev. Noah Moody and the Rev. Paul Parker. Burial was at Foster Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers are Chris Jones, Joe Wayne Jones, Olen Jones, john Jackson, Jessie Jackson, and Verl Jackson. BILLIE JEAN MARTIN Mrs. Billie Jean Martin, 67, of Morrilton died Tuesday, May 30, 1995. She was born April 25, 1928, in Center Ridge, a daughter of Orville Stobaugh and Etta Sheridan Stobaugh. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Morrilton. Survivors include her husband, William H. Martin; two sons, Eddie Wilson of Russellville and Mike Wilson of Morrilton; three daughters, Barbara Evans of Nashville, Tennessee, and Alice Spooner and Amy Martin, both of Morrilton; five brothers, Ronald Stobaugh and Danny Stobaugh of Overland Park, Kansas, and George Stobaugh of Morrilton; two sisters, Patsy Dunn of Little Rock and Betty Dunn of Maumelle and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were 10 a.m. June 1, at the Harris Chapel by the Rev. Gordon Warren and the Rev. Larry Miller. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. He was born Dec. 15, 1918, in Hoxie, a son of Aaron McMurray and Ester Halferty McMurray. Mr. McMurray was a retired Army World War II veteran and was a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Noma Hillis McMurray; four sons, Bruce McMurray of Augusta, Georgia, Van McMurray of North Little Rock, Ted McMurray of Stockton, California, and Edward McMurray of Hawaii; one brother, Bob McMurray of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. June 2 at Robertsville Cemetery by Bro Jeff White. Burial was by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. BILLY O誰EAL Billy Joe O誰eal, 62, of Cleveland died Monday, June 5, 1995. He was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Scotland, a son of the late Opal Rhoads Heerman. Mr. O誰eal was a cattle, chicken, and agricultural farmer, purchaser at the paper mill, and worked at the FMC factory in Conway. After 23 years, he retired from the Air Force as master sergeant and was a Korean and Vietnam war veteran. Mr. O誰eal was justice of the peace for four terms, fire chief in the U. S. Air Force for 16 years, fire chief at the Scotland area fire emergency for 16 years, and was on the Governor痴 Task Force for Rural Firefighters Association. He was a 32 degree Mason and was a member of the Scotland Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Nell Braudway O誰eal; four sons, David Harris and Clint W. Rose, both of Vilonia, Michael W. O誰eal, Air Force, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Wayne W. Rose of Conway; one daughter, Patty O誰eal Brown, retired Air Force, Benton; father and stepmother, Poley L. and Alice O誰eal of Spring Hill; four sisters, Carol Cassity of Knob Noster, Missouri, Cathy O誰eal of California, Dr. Marsha R. O誰eal of Alabama, and Judy McCorkle of Bedford, Texas, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, (Wednesday) at the Cleveland Baptist Church by the Rev. Roddy King. A military and Masonic graveside service will be at Old Liberty Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be member as the Scotland Masonic Lodge. THOMAS POLK Thomas Albert Polk, 48, of Morrilton died Sunday, June 4, 1995. He was born Dec. 19, 1946, in Center Ridge, a son of Thomas Velmer and Lizzie Johnson Polk. He was a retired employee of the Morrilton Packing Co. Survivors include his two daughters, Tekila Polk of Oppelo and Rebecca Polk of Morrilton, three brothers, f Morrilton; Bob Polk of Overcup, and Bill Polk and Carl Polk of Oppelo; and one grandchild. Funeral services were at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Bro. Mike Atkinson and Bro. Cleo Young officiating. LOYCE SOWELL Loyce A. D. Sowell, 70, of Solgohachia died Saturday, June 3, 1995. He was born April 27, 1925 in Conway, a son of Claud Sowell and Emily Doss Sowel. Mr. Sowell was a retired welder for Arkansas Valley Dredging and Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel. Survivors include his wife, Lula Mae Dunn Sowell; one son, Roger A. D. Sowell of Solgohachia; one daughter, Barbara Skaggs of Solgohachia, one brother, Claudie Sowell of Melborne; two sisters, Ima Jean Renfroe of Tennessee and Murelle Pool of North Little Rock; and two grandsons. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at the Harris Chapel by the Rev. Sam Goodnight. Burial was at Friendship Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. BERNICE STINNETT Mrs. Bernice Young Stinnett, 67, of Horatio died Thursday, June 1, 1995. She was born April 9, 1928, at Horatio. She was president of the American Legion Auxiliary; member of the Camelia Garden Club; and a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday School class. Survivors include her husband, Carl L. Stinnett; three sons, James Richard Stinnett of Malvern, Timothy Carl Stinnett of Fayetteville, and Michael Dennis Stinnett of Morrilton; four brothers, Wesley W. Young of DeQueen, Bennie F. Young of DeKalb, Texas, Earl Young of Horatio, and Jimmy Young of Portland; one sister, Ruby Batterton of Portland; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at the First Baptist Church of Horatio with the Rev. Troy Carroll officiating. Burial was in Horatio Cemetery by Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.
