NOAH WILLIAMS Noah S. WILLIAMS, Corning and formerly of Naylor, MO, was born June 15, 1928 n Peach Orchard, son of Alen W. and Peal E. THWAITS WILLIAMS. He died in Piggott Community Hospital Wed. Aug. 27, 2008. He was 80. An ordained Penetecostal minister, he was a member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church. He was retired from General Motors of St. Louis. March 5, 1951 in Piggott he married the former Ethel Louella FAITH. She preceded him in death Nov. 28, 1994. Survivors are one son Noah Allen WILLIAMS, Hot Springs; two daughters Brenda Pearl WILLIAMS DIXON, Poplar Bluff and Christi Faith WILLIAMS LUCAS, Corning; one sister Lillie "Bobbi" SOLOMON, Humble, TX.; grandchildren John A. WILLIAMS, Matthew L. WILLIAMS, Aaron M. LUCAS, William LUCAS and Veronica K. LUCAS. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Paul WILLIAMS. Funeral services were conducted Sat. Aug. 30, 2008 in FOWLER-SULLIVAN Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. Burial in Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff. EDNA FOSTER Edna B. FOSTER, 102, formerly of the Corning area, was born Jan. 27, 1906 at Eleven Point, the daughter of James Walter and Harriett STUBBLEFIELD ENGLAND. She died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 in Randolph County Nursing Home. She was 102 years old. A graduate of Maynard Baptist Academy, she attended Harding College at Morrilton and Arkansas A&M College at Jonesboro. Dec. 19, 1925 she married to C.R. "Pete" FOSTER at Pocahontas. They both taught school in Arkansas until 1935 when they moved to Sikeston. They were in the grocery business for many years. Survivors are one son Jake (Betty) FOSTER, Pocahontas; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Mindy (David) GOLLIHER of Atlanta and Dr. Beverly FOSTER and husband T. Martin DAVIS of Little Rock; 4 great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Kathleen SLOAN of Sikeston and Dortha Jane HEDGE of Jackson, MO. Graveside services were held Monday in Foster Cemetery at Maynard with Fred HUNTER officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of McNABB Funeral Home. MICHELLE R. WHALLS Michelle Renee (POGUE) WHALLS, Plano, TX, formerly of the Knobel area, was born in Jonesboro May 9, 1959 daughter of R.E. and Jacquelyn POGUE. She died Monday Aub. 25, 2008. She was 49. She grew up in the Knobel area attending Knobel Schools and graduated from Piggott High School. A member of Legacy Church in Plano, TX, she was a multi-state licensed real estate agent in the Dallas area. Survivors are her husband Mark WHALLS; step-son Marc WHALLS; mother Jacquelyn POGUE; sisters Mary Lee (Joe) LYTLE, Little Rock and Melanie POGUE, Piggott; nephews Booker Mason LYTLE and Nicholas MORGAN; nieces Grace LYTLE, ZJillian WHALLS, Megan HARRISON and Amanda HARRISON; granddaughter Katriana WHALLS; and many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her father R.E. POGUE; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C.R. MASON, Knobel and Mr. and MRs. James Allen POGUE, Sr.; a niece Peyton LYTLE and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service was held Thurs. Aug. 28, 2008 in Legacy Church in Plano. Anothe memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 30 in Piggott First Baptist Church. LOREN ELDERS Loren ELDERS, Farmington, MO was born Aug. 10, 1930 son of Luther and Yulas (Pollard) ELDERS. He died in his residence Aug. 23, 2008. He was 78. A member of First Baptist Church of Doe Run. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Charlene; three sons, Richard (Paula) BALLEW, Madison, IL, Charles (Karen) SMITH, Festus, MO, and Christopher (Susan) SMITH, Arley, AL; three daughters, Charlotte SMOCK, St. Louis, MO, Clarissa (Alex) COLEMAN, Crystal City, MO and Robin (Jeff) ALBACH, St. Louis, MO; one sister Wanda (Bob) CREASY, O'Fallon, MO; four brothers John (Margie) ELDERS, DeSoto, MO, Jake (Janice) ELDERS, Corning, Paul (Judy) ELDERS, Scott City, MO and Don (Judy) ELDERS, Granite City, IL; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brother, three sisters and one grandson.
