SLOAN Auby R. Sloan, 84, of Arkadelphia, died today in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock. A lifelong resident of Clark County, he was a retired school teacher and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Hicks Sloan; one son, Don Sloan of Oak Ridge Tennessee, one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Dillion of Noel, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Green Thompson of Arkadelphia; and Mrs. Anna Ferguson of Memphis Tennessee and two grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Murry Ruggles Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Dr. Nathan Porter will officiate at the services. Pallbearers include Bill Moorman, Lemuel Moorman, Jewel Roberts, Morris Turner, Charles Todd, Ray Deaton and Loyce Buck.
