Phillip Snow) Funeral service was conducted at the Nelson Funeral Chapel, Monday afternoon for Polk W. Cathey, 58 year old former business man of Berryville, who died at his home here late Friday after a short illness of pneumonia. The service was conducted at the Nelson Funeral Home by Rev. Rue Porter and Rev. W. A. Downum with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetary. Mr. Cathey was born in the Snow community near here, and came to Berryville twenty-one years ago. For several years he was associated with the Farmers Equity Store in Berryville, and also had served as its manager. He also, a few years ago, was a candiate for the democratic nomination of Sheriff of this county. Mr. Cathey was the son of the late Alex and Mary E. Cathey, who settled in Carroll County nearly a hundred years ago. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Elliott Bobo, Antioch, California; Mrs. Max Owens, Branson, Missouri, Virginia Dare Cathey of this home; three sons, Porter Cathey, Antioch, California, Harold & Carroll Cathey of the home and two brothers, W. G. Cathey of Iowa Park, Texas, and Allan Cathey of near Berryville. ************************************************************************
