Benton County born and raised. Date of death September 1969. Arthur F. Lenox Coolidge(Arizona)-Rites for Arthur F. Lenox, 79, a guard at the federal prison camp near Florence(Arizona) for many years, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Cole and Maud Mortuary. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park. Mr. Lenox was born in Benton County Ark., and came to Coolidge in 1936. He died Thursday in Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, Phoenix. He is survived by two sons, Hugh of Decatur, Ark., and Robert of Florence; two daughters Mrs. Lucille Ogle of Scottsburg, Ore. , and Mrs. Ruby Bowen in Idaho; a brother and sister out of state; nine grandchildren; and 34 grandchildren. -------- Newspaper unknown Mary Elizabeth Lenox Relethford Mary Elizabeth Lenox was born February 9,1871, at Garfield, in Benton County, Arkansas, departed this life at her home near Garfield January 15, 1960. She was the daughter of Richard and Nancy Lenox. She was united in marriage to Perry Oliver Relethford June 3, 1890, to this union were born 4 daughters and 3 sons. Two daughters, Ollie Collins and Maggie Schnitzer, preceded her in death. The surviving children are Earnie and Jane of the home. Willie of Garfield, Vernie of Wheeles, Okla., and a daughter, Maude Schnitzer of Seligman, MO. ; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves four brothers and four sisters, John Lenox Pisttsburg, Kans., Arthur Lenox of Coolidge, Ariz., Jim of Decatur, Ark., and Levi Lenox of Gentry, Ark.; Dora Guss of Gentry, Ark., and Sarah Howard of Salem, Ill., Laura Keep and Clara Thornton of Coin, Iowa. She was converted at an early age and united with Baptist Chuirch at Decatur, Ark. She is now asleep with Jesus. ------------- BENTON COUNTY OBIT NEWSPAPER UNKNOWN HOLD FINAL RITES FOR MRS. L. KEEP [Laura Lenox Keep] Funeral services for Laura Keep were held at 2:00 Tuesday, November10, 1964 at the Coin Methodist Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. I. G. Wilkins officiating. Interment was at the Elmwood Cemetery at Coin. Mrs. William Smiley, soloist, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In The Garden", with Mrs. Gertrude Utter. organist. Mrs. Dale Earwood, Mrs. Lester Olsen and Mrs. Ray Brownlee were in charge of the flowers. William Mannasmith is in Charge of the cancer memorial fund. Ushers were Ray Brownlee and W.C. Yeisley. Pallbearers were the grandsons, Oville D. Keep, Leo Booker Walter Cordt, Delbert Nelson Arnold Hall and Ora Horn, Jr. Laura E. Lenox a daughter of Richard and Nancy Lenox, was born at Garfield, Ark., April 7, 1894, and entered into rest at her home in Coin November 7, 1964, at the age of 70 years and 7 months. She was united in marriage to George Pangburn Keep on June 18, 1911. To this union four children were born, Orville A. of Coin, Juanita(Mrs. Ralph Booker) of Leavenworth, Kan., Beatrice (Mrs. Leo Gardner ) of Coin, and George, Jr. of Shenandoah. There are 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Howard of Salem, Ill., Mrs. Dora Guss of Gentry, Ark., and Mrs.Robert Thornton of Coin four brothers, John Lenox of Pittsburg, Kan., James Lenox of Decatur, Ark.,Levi Lenox of Gentry , Ark., and Arthur Lneox (Lenox) of Coolidge, Ariz., and a number of nieces and nephews survive. She was preceeded in death by one grandson, one great granddaughter and one sister. Keep, of Shenandoah. JAMES A. LENOX Decatur, Ark.- James A. Lenox, 82 years old , of Gentry, Ark., a former resident of Decatur, died Wednesday night in a Siloam Springs hospital after an extended illness. Born December 27 1883, in Garfield, Ark., Mr. Lenox had lived in Gentry one week, moveing there from Decatur, where he had lived since retiring in 1956 as an engineer for Pure Oil Company in Drumright, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Drumright. He is survived by a grandson, whom he reared, Harold L. Lenox, Los Angeles, Calif.: three brothers, Levi Lenox, Gentry, John Lenox, Pittsburg, Kan., and Arthur Lenox, state of California and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Guss, Gravette, Ark., and Mrs. R.N. Thornton, Coin, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Decatur Baptist church. The Rev. Vee Hoyle will officiate and burial will be in Decatur cemetery under direction of Wasson funeral home of Siloam Springs. She had suffered a stroke two or three ago. Three other sons and five daughters survive----Jim Lenox of Drumright, Okla.; Levi Lenox of Decatur, John Lenox of Pitssburg, Kans., Mrs. Mary Relthford of Garfield, Ark., Mrs. Dora Guss of Decatur, Mrs. Sarah Howard of Bentonville, Mrs.Clara Thornton and Mrs. Laura Keep of Coin, Iowas. The children were all at her bedside except one son, Jim who came to attend the funeral. She was laid to rest beside the grave of her husband, Richard Lenox who died August 17, 1924. Funeral service was conducted by REv. J.A. Scoggins at the Baptist church Friday and burial was in the city cemetary. Lenox , 78, of Gravettte died May 29 in Gravette. He was born Feb. 2, 1911, in Chanute Kan., the son Arthur and Elizabeth (Hutchison) Lenox. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the American Legion. He was a Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife Martha(Barnwell ) Lenox of the home; one daughter , Mary Ritchie of Rogerville, Mo.; one brother, Robert Lenox of Florence, Ariz.; one sister Lucille Ogle of Medford, Ore.; six grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, Norma Jean Lenox Lee Elza Lenox and Helen Marie Mathia and one sister , Ruby Bowen. Funeral servises were June1 at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel with Brother Ray Cook and Brother Jack Austin officiating.
