Zion Cemetery in Hamburg. Jones Funeral Home of Crossett was in charge of arrangements. She died Thursday, June 5, at Hamburg Leisure Lodge. Survivors include one sister, Ella Lusby of Bastrop, La.; and several nieces and nephews, including ShirleyTravis of Crossett and Myra Travis of Bastrop. LULA COULTER ************ Funeralservices for Lula Elma Hale Coulter, 85, of Hamburg were held Saturday, June 7, at 3 p.m. at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael Carpenter and Donny DuBose officiating. Burial was at Promise Land Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Mrs. Coulter died Thursday, June 5, at Ashley Memorial Hospital. A native of Lepeal, La. and a resident of Hamburg for most of her life, she was a homemaker and member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Bob G. Coulter of Redding, Calif., Randy L. Coulter of Hamburg, Larry L. Coulter of Eugene, Ore. and Troy A. Coulter of Burney, Calif.; three daughters, Edna K. Coulter Pullin of Hamburg and Pat and Alma Faye Carpenter, both of Crossett; one sister, Willie Mae Hill of Start, La.; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Coulter; two sons and three daughters. Pallbearers were James Cessor, James Martin, Kevin, Eric, Brian and Ronny Coulter and Timmy and Scott Pullin. Jones Funeral Home of Crossett was in charge of arrangements. Mrs Johnson died Friday, June 6, at Country Wood Estate Nursing Home in Monticello. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, Jeff Johnson; one son, Garrett Gilbert of McGehee; two daughters, Jennifer Gilbert of McGehee nad Jill Johnson of Monticello; mother, Margie Johnson of Crossett; and three sisters, Wanda Carter and Janice Pennington, both of Crossett, and Vickie Taylor of Pine Bluff. LAWRENCE MIDDLEBROOKS ********************* Funeral services for Lawrence "Bee" Middlebrooks, 74, of the State Line Community near Beekman, La., were held Friday, June 6, at 2 p.m., at the Golden Funeral Chapel in Bastrop, with the Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. burial was at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Middlebrooks died Wednesday, June 4, at his residence. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Lawrence Middlebrooks of Marksville, La., and Steve and Mike Middlebrooks, both of Bastrop, La; two daughters, Paulette Francis of Portland and Bonnie Pack of Crossett; three sisters, Katherine Farrar of Crossett, and Erline Stanley and Ida Mae Spikes, both of Bastrop; five brothers, Wayne, C.J. , James and Bobby Middlebrooks, all of Bastrop, and L.E. Middlebrooks of West Monroe, La.; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Lee Middlebrooks, and by a brother, Edward Middlebrooks. John Reed officiating. Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Parham died Thursday, June 5, at her residence. She was a native of Crossett, a member of Temperance Hill Methodist Church near Fordyce and was a musician. Survivors include her husband, Jay Parhap; one daughter, Leigh Lochala of Crossett; one step-daughter, Hannah Parham of Claremont, Calif.; one step-son Jackson Parham of Claremont; father, Stormy Braswell of Crossett; mother, Ruby Revelle Havard of Lufkin, Texas; one brother, John Steven Ross of Colorado; and one sister, Summer Braswell of Crossett. LULA RAINEY *********** Funeral services for Lula Lavay Rainey, 70, of Rayville, La., formerly of Milo, will be held Wednesday, June 11, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett with the Rev. Bobby Alexander officiating. Burial will be at Egypt Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Mrs. Rainey died Sunday, June 8, at Richland Medical Center in Rayville. A native of Casa, she was a homemaker and member of Hillview Freewill Baptist Church in Bastrop, La. Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Rainey; one son, Charles Ray Taylor of Hermitage; one daughter, Peggy Taylor Beal of Rayville; two sisters, Freda Vent of Pine Bluff and Nelda Alexander of Little Rock; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael William Knight. RUTH WORKS ********** Graveside services for Ruth Jacks Works, 76, of Warren were held Tuesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery at Rye with the Rev. Greg Stanley officiating. Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Works died Sunday, June 8, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. A native of Cleveland County, she was a public school teacher for 35 years and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jacks of Helena and Jackie Ruth Moore of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, William Thomas Brown of Crossett; and two grandchildren, Jo Anna Moore and Jack Allen Moore, both of Texarkana. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Calvin C. Jacks and Evans Works. Pallbearers were Mike Young, Bill Young, W.J. Thomason, Jim Cross, John "M" Lipton, Bob Garner and Gerald Burton.
