Nov.- Dec. 1812 cavalry.  Lived in Malone in 1810 and 1820.  Born Oct. 4, 1775 in CT, son of Sam Andrus (Andrews?) and Esther Cone.  Died before Dec.10, 1821 ae. 47.  Had 3 sons from first marriage to Melinda __________(who d. May 17, 1809 ae 51(?)): Leonard(b. Sep. 17, 1803), Williiam (1806-1884) and Lucius(b. Mar. 5, 1809).  Albert and George were from second marriage to Anna _________
Atwater, Abraham Rufus Tilden   Moses Eggleston Private   Private Jul.- Dec. 1812               Sept.11-20, 1814  married Tamson Drew (born about 1793 in New Hampshire) at Chateaugay on May 12, 1818.  He served at French’s Mills (Ft. Covington) under Capt. Tilden in 1813 and died at Chateaugay on November 24, 1844 aged 70.  His wife Tamson (d. Mar. 6, 1872 ae 79)was living with Betsey Hill in Moira in 1860, and may have been the daughter of Samuel Drew of Chateaugay. A son Alanson d. Aug. 1, 1841.  Daughter Molly d. Feb. 26, 1841, ae 19.  He and his wife are buried at Sandy Knoll Cem. in Chateaugay

Nov. 27, 1868 ) in North Kingston RI in 1798.  They lived in Dickinson in 1810 and 1820 , in Moira in 1840 and were living with Ruth and Martin McNall in Dickinson in 1860.  He died June 12, 1863 and is buried at Moira

Barden, Liba David Erwin Rufus Tilden Private Private Nov.- Dec. 1812   Sept.11-21, 1814 b. about 1776 and m. Persis Sexton (b. June 25, 1790 in Monkton VT, d. Mar. 21, 1869) ca. 1810 in Franklin Co.  Lived in Bangor in 1820 and 1830, later moved to Hambden OH where he d. Sep. 12, 1847.  Their daughter Alzina m. Carlos Cook in 1833, and daughter Clarinda m. Linus Doud in the 1830's.  Both families moved to Ohio

Later lived in Lapeer, Saginaw and St. Clair Co. MI.  She died June 1853 in Brockway MI. He was b. ca 1792 and was living in St. Charles MI in 1871 
Barnum, Barnabas Rufus Tilden Private Sept.11-21, 1814 born June 11, 1782 in CT d. Sep. 13, 1869 and married Mary Winchester (b. June 20, 1792 in MA, d. Oct. 1, 1878) Lived in Chateaugay in 1830 and  in North Bangor 1840 -1860.  Children included:Barnabas Jr.(1812-1812), Marion (1816-1839), Jennette(1818-189_), Rollin (1821-1848), Lucy (1825-1843), Eliza(1827-1828), Henry(1830-1831), Darius(1831-1846)

April 23, 1831 and is buried at North Bangor. Was a Revolutionary War soldier and came to Burke between 1796-98 from Monkton, VT.  His second wife was Rachel Finney(who d. Sept. 2, 1836 ae 82).  Had children Talmadge, Mrs. Rachel Dean, Mrs. Lois Wyman, Mrs. Rhoda Hawley, Mrs. Lydia Lawrence, Jehiel, James, Barney(?), Elijah, Mrs. Abigail Mott, Mrs. Hannah Spencer, Mrs Charlotte (Joseph)Goodspeed.
Barnum, Jehiel   Jr Moses Eggleston Private Sept.11-20, 1814 lived in Burke in 1820 - 1850. died February 9, 1853, ae 76 and is buried at Hawks Hollow cemetery, Town of Burke.  His wife Hannah d. April 17, 1853 ae 21.
Bashaw, Benjamin David Erwin Private Jul.- Nov. 1813 married Amalie Lebbay in St. Regis Canada.  Lived in St. Anaclet Que , but was a US citizen and died 14 Feb. 1883.  His wife d. before March 1871
Bashaw, Francis David Erwin Private Mar.- Nov. 1813 b. about 1789 and may have been living in Chateaugay in 1840.  Listed as Barshaw and as Barcier in White's book of 1812 pension applications.  Married May White Feb 28, 1829 in St. Anaclet, Que.  He died 18 Aug. 1880 in Bay City MI.  Went by the name "Francois Barcier" in the 1850's while he was living in Wayne Co. MI.

Baxter, Zebulon James B.Spencer Moses Eggleston Corporal   Private Jun 1813- Jun 1814 Sept.11-20, 1814 lived in Chateaugay, then Wisconsin in the 1850's and in Austin MN by 1873.  He originally served from Columbia Co. NY.  He was 98 years old in 1873, by which time his wife was already dead

Jane Greer in 1828) , Samuel who lived in PA, Aaron of Malone and Frebe(?) who married Harry Hilliker of Chateaugay

He was born Dec. 31, 1789 and died July 13, 1855  in Constable.  They lived in Malone in 1814-1820 and in Constable by 1840.  By 1878 , his widow had moved to Carey OH

March 14, 1839 ae 87)  who ran a tavern in 1812 in Constable. He had at least one child Maria, born about 1830.   He d. Oct. 26, 1871 ae 79 and is buried at Constable.
Bell. Freeman born in about 1788 in VT and d. Mar. 28, 1861. Married Trefina Hopkins (b. 1796 in VT, d. Nov. 26, 1872)  They had at least one daughter, Sarah.  Oscar and Hanna Holister lived with them in 1860 in Constable, and she may also have been his daughter.  No military information on him except that Hurd listed him as a War of 1812 soldier from Constable.  He was the brother of Samuel Bell.
Bemis, Timothy Stephen Hickock Private Sept. 11-20, 1814 b. Mar. 9, 1776 in Weston MA and d. May 24, 1848 in Malone.  He was the son of Timothy and Martha Wesson Bemis. Married Lois Rhodes (b. May 1, 1775 in Marlboro NH and d. Aug. 2, 1856 in Malone) on June 3, 1795.  Came to Malone in 1812 and lived on the Lake Titus Rd. He was discharged through sickness. He and his wife are buried in Webster St. cemetery in Malone.  Children: Eunice, George, Charles, Harvey(?), Ebenezer(b. 1800)
Bero, Joseph (alias Kar-he-ron-ton) David Erwin served in the company of Capt. David Erwin in the fall of 1813, along with several other St. Regis Mohawks.  He said he was born in about 1782 on his application  for bounty land in 1859

Berry, Philemon Warren Powers Private Sept. 11-20, 1814 cavalry.  Born 1 May, 1791 in Monkton, VT (son of Barnabas Berry) and d. Feb. 12, 1862.  Married Lucy Wilson ( b. 1791 in VT, d. 1873). He and his wife are buried at Westville. He was living in Malone in 1840  and in Westville in 1850 with children Sally, Philemon, Alvah, Lucius,  Martin, Wilbur, and another Philemon.  Daughter Lucy d. Aug. 11, 1841 ae 11
Bidwell, Elisha Rufus Tilden Private Sept.11-21, 1814 lived in Dickinson by 1810  and was in Moira by 1830.  Married Adah _______(b. about 1786 in MA and d. Feb. 10, 1871).  He was born  ca. 1780 and died Jan. 8, 1857.  He is buried at Moira.

Blake, Charles Moses Eggleston Private Sept.11-20, 1814 a Charles Blake of Chateaugay married Anna Cook,also of Chateaugay on July 24, 1817 in Malone and that may be this man. He may have been living in Malone in 1830

Blanchard, Henry Warren Powers Sergeant Sept. 11-20, 1814 cavalry. Married Sophronia Miner of Malone in Malone on Christmas Day 1816.  May have still been living in Malone in 1830

Covington Center. Married Lorinda Wales and lived in Ft. Covington by 1806. Their daughter Sally married Jonathan Wilson.

He was the son of Ephraim and Merab Dowd Botsford.  Lived in Burke as early as 1806. Married Cynthia Lane (1779-1818) , Sept. 26, 1812 .  Then married Mrs. Electa Noble Eggleston (1773-1852)  Had son Loren who d. in Burke in 1865
Botsford, Wolcott David Erwin Private Nov.- Dec. 1812 probably lived in Chateaugay.  Born in Sharon CT in 1794, and died before 1835.  Married Sabrina Madison, and they moved  near Detroit MI sometime after the war

Briggs, Joseph David Erwin Drummer Mar.- Nov. 1813  married Catherine Clark (who had been born in NY in about 1799) in February 1814 in French’s Mills, NY.  He served as a musician in Capt. David Erwin’s Co. of militia from May to July 1813.  He was born in VT in about 1793. They were living in Ft. Covington in 1851 when he died on July 4th. They had at least three children, Albert (1821) Evelyn (1829) and Ellen (1835).  In 1850, a Harriet Briggs (1830) and 1 yr old Catherine were living with them. Catherine was still living in Ft. Covington in January 1883.
Briggs, Matthew Rufus Tilden   David Erwin Corporal  Sergeant Jul.- Dec. 1812              Mar.-Nov. 1813 born about 1795 and lived at Westville until his death January 10, 1847.  His wife Deborah was born  about 1795, and had a son William.  She was living in Westville in 1857.  He served in Capt. Tilden’s Co. of NY militia from June until December 1812,  until he was taken prisoner and exchanged.

Broughton, Samuel Rufus Tilden(?) Private(?) Nov.-Dec. 1812 does not appear on muster rolls but is listed in Hurd's book. Born in MA in 1774(?), died June 29, 1851, moved to Malone in 1807.  Married Rachel Hobart (1776 -Jan 29,1871, daughter of Shebuel Hobart of Ashburnham MA) and had children Shebuel, Susan, Submit, Betsey, Honor, Bradford, Wait, Sarah, and John B. (b. 1823, married Rachel Stickney in 1846)
Brown, James Stephen Hickock Private Sept. 11-20, 1814 appears in the 1810 census of Franklin County. A James Brown d. August 16, 1818 ae 52 and is buried at North Bangor, and that might be him

Brownson, Ebenezer David Erwin Sergeant Nov.- Dec. 1812 he was appointed first judge of the Court of Common Pleas in October 1810.
Bryant, George H. W. David Erwin Private Mar.- Nov. 1813 Born ca. 1799.  Enlisted at Ft. Covington and later lived in Ellisburg NY (1855)and Benton Harbor MI (1872).  Served in the 29th US Infantry under James Spencer and fought at Plattsburgh and Stone's Mill

Bryant, Philip David Erwin Lieut. Mar.- Nov. 1813 born in 1780 in Norwich CT and married Sophia Shepard in about 1804.  Lived in Chateaugay and moved to  Erie PA where he died in 1855.  His son Arunah S. Bryant was still living in Chateaugay in 1860
Buckland, John A. Rufus Tilden Corporal Sept.11-21, 1814 was probably from Vermont originally, lived in Dickinson in 1810 and 1820, and may have had a son John A. Buckland (1812-1882) who is buried at Moira, and son Latrop(?) who also lived in Moira in 1860
Burgess, Thomas Rufus Tilden   David Erwin      James B.Spencer Corporal   Private   Private Jul.1812-Jan.1813         Mar- Jun. 1813       June 1813-June 1814 may be the man who lived with wife Dolly in Ft. Covington and who died before Feb. 19, 1818, leaving no will.
Burns, John L. Asaph Perry Private Sept. 11-20, 1814 listed as "Barnes" in Seaver's book and on NYS transcription of Asaph Perry's Co.  He was born in 1789 in NH . Married Betsey Jones (born about 1795) in Romney, Grafton Co. NH in 1815.  She died April 22, 1826 two weeks after the birth of her third child Eliza Ann at Ft.Covington NY.  He then married her sister Mary Jane Jones (born about 1805) in Romney on January 31, 1827.  He served as a private in Capt. David Erwin’s and Capt. Asaph Perry’s co. of militia in 1813 and again in 1814.  He and several others had avoided being captured at French’s Mills (ie Ft. Covington)  He had been born in 1789 in New Hampshire and died at Ft.Covington on March 18, 1861  He and his wife were living with their son Hiram in 1860.  His wife died November 1897. The family Bible recorded the following births:

           Eliza Ann       April 8, 1822.    died in 1880 and is buried at Ft. Covington

Cady, Reuben Rufus Tilden Private Sept.11-21, 1814 married Elizabeth Allen in Hopkinton on Christmas Day, 1811.  He served in Capt. Rufus Tilden’s company of militia.  Reuben operated a hotel/tavern in East Dickinson until his death in 1858. His pension application records the following children

Campbell, James Rufus Tilden   David Erwin Sergeant  Sergeant Jul.1812-Jan.1813         Mar- Nov. 1813 born about 1784 in VT and still living in Ft. Covington in 1860.  He died July 5, 1883 aged 99 years and is buried at Ft. Covington  He married Mary Chapman (1802-1848) .  He was one of the men in Tilden's company who was not captured at French's Mills in 1812

MN Cavalry

Nov. 20, 1813,  He died May 31, 1834 in Great Valley(Ellicottsville?) NY and his wife died there 26 May 1871.  Had a brother Orrin Chase (b. ca 1802) who lived in Olean NY in 1871.  Also had a son Joseph E. Chase b. ca 1825. 
Chase, Sylvester David Erwin Private Mar.- Nov. 1813 married Eunice Hoskins Dec 1, 1818 in Leeds Co. Ontario.  He died ca. 1877.  Lived in Ft. Atkinson WI and Goodhue Co. MN.

Sep. 18, 1879 at Marble Hill MO, she d. ca 1881.  Also lived in  Rutland in Jefferson Co. NY,  Washtenaw  Co. MI and Bollinger Co. MO.  Was sick with measles when captured at French's Mills in 1812. Got thrown off the British boat onto rocks and permanently injured his knee

Nov.- Dec. 1812             Sept.- Oct., 1813 born Sept. 27, 1783 in Bridgewater MA and married Julia (Lucy?)Cleveland (Aug.19, 1787-June 27, 1811), and then Eunice Bates (Nov. 24, 1795-Feb. 2, 1880) on January 30, 1820 at Ft. Covington.   He died April 24, 1871 at Malone, NY.  In the 1860 census of Malone, he and his wife were living with Azro (1821-1910), Fanny (1835) and Fred Conant (1845) along with 95 (?)yr old Lucy Bates, who was probably Eunice’s mother.  Her father may have been David Bates of Dickinson.

May be the Elisha Drury listed as an assessor in Dickinson in 1809.  married Rachel Ladd who died in Malone in September 1825.  He then married Beulah (the widow of Ashley Stowers whom she had married in Malone in 1817. He had also died in 1825) in Bangor on January 24, 1826.  He served in Capt. Asaph Perry’s company of NY militia in 1813.  He was living in Malone in 1851 and in Constable in 1858, where he had at least two sons, George (born about 1814) and Charles (born about 1830)

Covington by 1810.  Married  Polly Winn (born in MA about 1787) March 1, 1807 in Rockingham VT.  Still lived in Ft. Covington in 1850.  He was a brother of Sullivan Ellsworth and  joined at French’s Mills (Ft. Covington).    According to Hurd,  their children were:

His first wife , Sally Cogswell, had died in 1839 ae 48.  He then married Lucy Whitney in Moira on September 29, 1839.    When the rest of Tilden's  company was taken prisoner at French’s Mills  (Ft. Covington) he happened to be absent on parole.    Lucy was born about 1800 in Vermont and d. in 1891.  In the 1860 census of Moira, a 5 year old boy Lewis Farnsworth was living with them.

NY and died at Springville PA Feb. 16, 1866.

He married Persis Cummings (1779-April 29, 1851) on Nov. 4, 1824.  He may have married A woman named Orpha after the death of Persis, and may have been married to  woman named Nabby before Persis.   At his death, sons Sidney and Dewey lived in Malone, Dwight in Illinois,  Mrs Eliza House in Malone, and Mrs Almira Hoit had already died but her 3 children were in Malone

Lived in Westville and also acted as a surgeon.  Was appointed judge of the county court in 1810.  Had children Buel, Ebenezer, Albon, Mary Ann, Susan, Maria and Mrs. (Sarah?)Jabez Parkhurst.  He was a  brother of Alric Man, and died before Sep. 15, 1820.
Man, Alric Lt.Col. born about 1762 in Kent CT.  Married Sally Wallace (b. ca 1781)on either October 2, 1799 or October 4, 1801 in Addison VT (she claims both dates in different pension applications).  They were living in Westville in 1814 and he died there on April 11, 1848.  He was a Lt. Col. in the NY militia . Sally moved to Ogdensburg NY after his death and was living with her daughter Eliza Hawley in 1878.  He was a brother of Albon Man.

Jul. 10, 1876 in Cornwall Ont. Their 3 children were Agnes (b. Aug. 12, 1863 and worked in Cornwall) Margaret(b. Dec. 16, 1870 and was adopted into a farm family) and William (b. Jul. 7, 1872 and lived with Wm. Anderson of Pte. St. Charles PQ.)  Margaret died in Venda Que. March 28, 1905

June 14, 1792 in VT, d. 1881) 26 Nov. 1815 in Malone.  She had divorced her previous husband Mr. Prescott. They were still living in Malone in 1860.  His pension application lists his 10 kids and their birthdates, along with some of their spouses.

Sabin, Charles Asaph Perry Private Sept. 11-21, 1814 born about 1786 in Mass. son of Gideon Sabin and Freelove Searles . He was living in Ft. Covington in 1860 and had married wife Esther (b. about 1791 in NH) in about 1809.  Had children Polly (b. 1824) and Calvin( b. 1829) , plus James and Charles (lived in Lancaster Ontario)  Several of his grandchildren lived in Cornwall Ont.  He d. Dec. 19, 1864.
Sabin, Comfort Asaph Perry Sergeant born about 1793 in Worcester Co. MA, he was living in Constable in 1820 and in Ft. Covington in 1840.  His first wife was Permelia Fuller who died Mar. 29, 1844.  His second wife was Emeline Lucas(b. ca 1808 in VT and widow of John Lucas) and  she is listed in the 1860 Ft. Covington  census.  Comfort died in Ft. Covington Mar. 2, 1858 and his widow was living in New Hampton, IA by 1878.  Neighbors John and Sabrina Annett of Ft. Covington moved to Iowa also
Sanborn, Benjamin Asaph Perry Ensign Sept..- Oct., 1813 enlisted in Constable and served Sep-Nov. 1813.  His first wife Sally died in Ft. Covington in 1826.  He lived in Ft. Covington in 1820 - 1840.  He married Parthenia Catlin of St. Albans, VT Mar. 12, 1827.  He moved from Ft. Covington to New Centerville in Oswego Co. then to Redwood in Jefferson Co. by 1850.  He died there Aug. 10, 1871, she followed him May 4, 1889

Ohio in 1853 and they had both seen service at French’s Mills.  Jonathan and his family lived in the northern part of the Town of Dickinson and got their mail at Alburgh.  Jonathan was born in about 1796 and Sally was born in about 1807.  They were both from NH.  Their children included:

Stiles, Ezra Lt. Snead Dec. 1812- 1815 born Sept. 28, 1798 in Shoreham VT, son of Asa Stiles, and served in 11th US Infantry. He volunteered in 1813 at the age of 16, and was shot in the left thigh at Chateaugay.  He was discharged in 1815.  Married Harriet Rublee (1804-1894) in West Chazy NY on Jan. 23,  1821.  He was later the US Customs officer in Ft. Covington and died there of dropsey Aug. 1, 1880.  His pension was stopped briefly in 1862 on charges of being disloyal to the US

Had sons Walcott A. and Smith P. plus 2 who moved to MN, one in IL and one in Gouverneur by 1880.

Wheeler, John David Erwin      Stephen Hickock Private    Private Mar.- Nov. 1813             Sept. 11-20, 1814 was born in New Haven VT in about 1785 and was a resident of Malone by 1820. He died January 28, 1844.  His widow Rhoda Spencer Wheeler (b. about 1795 in MA) applied for a pension after his death claiming he was in Capt. Hickock’s Co. in 1813, but her claim was rejected because he does not appear on any muster roll. They had married at Malone on March 7, 1816. In 1860, she was living in Malone with son Judson (b. 1831) and daughter (in law?) Diadema (b. 1836)  
Whipple, Nathaniel Rufus Tilden      Asaph Perry Private    Private Jul.- Dec. 1812              Sept. - Nov., 1813 born about 1793 in VT and married Sarah ___________(b. 1793 in VT) and had daughter Cordelia A. (b. 1840).  Lived in  Burke  where he died Oct. 26, 1866.
White, Merrill Rufus Tilden Private Jul.- Dec. 1812 married Amarilla Wakefield in Moira in June 1815(?).  He was still alive and living in South Bombay in 1883.   He had been drafted into Rufus Tilden’s company of New York militia at French’s Mills (Ft. Covington).  He was one of the men who was captured at French’s Mills in 1812 and sent as a prisoner of war to Montreal.  He also later served in Capt. Jared Winslow’s company as a substitute.  He had been born in about 1796 in Vermont   His wife was born in about 1805 in Vermont, according to the 1860 census of Bombay, so either the census is wrong, or their date of marriage is wrong.  She may have been the daughter of Ebenezer Wakefield  of Dickinson/Moira. There were 2 children living with them in the 1860 census:

White, Nathan Stephen Hickock Private Sept. 11-20, 1814 lived in Malone in 1820 -1860.  Born Jul. 20, 1787 in CT, wife Almira born 1804 in NY.  Claimed to be the first man to enlist in Hickock's Co. and that Samuel Hyde was second.  He had a brother Rufus who volunteered from VT.  Lived at Highgate VT in 1876.  His daughter Lucy married Lewis Green of Canton Mar. 24, 1843. 
White, Peter (alias Tieryoranidtakan) David Erwin      Asaph Perry married Mary LaFrance (alias Waretewateureidgoode) on February 1, 1815 in Hopkinton NY.  He was a St. Regis Mohawk and served as a scout under Capts. Perry, Erwin and Tilden in 1813.  Peter White died on September 12, 1824(1829?), but his wife was still alive and living in Hogansburg in 1883.  She had been born in about 1799.

Wilder, Alvin Stephen Hickock Private Sept. 11-20, 1814 Seaver lists him as "Wilden".  Lived in Malone in 1820
Wilder, Cyrus Stephen Hickock Corporal Sept. 11-20, 1814 married Nancy Erwin Jan. 26, 1817.   Seaver lists him as "Wilden", and one pay roll lists him as "Weldon".  Lived in Constable in 1820 and died in New Boston NH Mar. 7, 1856. 
Willey, Ambrose R. Warren Powers Private Sept. 11-20, 1814 cavalry.  Married Sarah Drake and lived in Ft. Covington 1820-1830.  They had a son Ambrose.
Willson, Abel Stephen Hickock married Lucinda Shurtleff who died in Malone in 1832 (1822?).  He then married Ann Scranton Jan. 5, 1834 in Malone.  He died in Malone Feb. 28, 1854, and his widow was still living there in 1878.  Had daughters Marie and Antoinette.
Willson, Anderson David Erwin Private Nov.- Dec. 1812 born in VT, as was wife Abigail. Drafted at Bangor in October 1813.  Still lived in Bangor in 1878, age 86

Wilson, Robert Asaph Perry Ensign Sept. 27-30, 1813 probably was in Malone in 1810, and  Bangor in 1807.  A blind 81 yr. old Robert Wilson who was born in Mass. appears in the 1860 census of Malone and that may be him

Wood, Adin Rufus Tilden Ensign Jul.- Dec. 1812 (1785-Jan. 10, 1857) appears in the 1810 census of Franklin Co.  with wife Esther Safford (1789-1875).    They were married in Malone by Jesse Chipman on Jan. 10, 1809.  His brother Arunah H. Wood claimed that they came to Malone in 1805, and that Adin had been insane 20 years by 1846. 
Wood, Ebenezer David Erwin      Stephen Hickock Private    Private Nov.- Dec. 1812              Sept. 11-20, 1814 lived in Malone in 1810 - 1830 and died in Malone Aug. 1, 1830 aged 70;  buried in Webster St. cemetery.  His wife Elizabeth S. died Jan. 1, 1863 ae 81
Wood, Enos David Erwin Private   Lieut. Nov.- Dec. 1812             Mar.- Nov. 1813 born Feb. 2, 1761 and married Aseneth Hazen (1763- before1803) May 19, 1782 at South Hero VT.  He later married Asenath Brewer (1768- 1845) Revolutionary War soldier and father of Adin Wood (q.v.)  Lived in Malone in 1810 -1840.  Originally from St. Albans VT and settled in Malone in 1802.  He died Feb. 22, 1851 and is buried in Malone.  Children included Adin and  Arunah of Malone, Enos of Hopkinton, Eri of Murry NY, Mrs. Aseneth Hatch of Holly NY, and Almira(Mrs Nathan) White of Malone.

Wright, Thomas David Erwin Lieut. Mar.- Nov. 1813 married Nancy Creighton (1783-1857)and was probably living in Westville by 1810.  He was born in about 1780 and died in Sep. 1862 ae 85.  Both are buried at Riverside cemetery in Westville.  They had children Mary (d. 1819 ae 12), William (d. 1821 ae 1) and Martha (d. 1809 ae 10 mos)
