PLEASANT VALLEY METHODIST CEMETERY
SECTION 14-143-85

The Church owes it’s beginning to the concern of several families of that community who felt the
need of a church. In 1921 they sponsored a revival meeting with Dr. George Bernard as Evangelist.
Dr. Bernard is remembered as the author of the hymn entitled, " The Old Rugged Cross." (taken
from the Oliver County History Book.
