Confederate Veterans Reunion, 1916

This is thought to be the reunion of three companies: Company F, H and I in front of the Sampson County Courthouse. The corner stone on the courthouse reads: Erected 1904; Renovated 1938-1939

The statute in the background was raised at the reunion. The date on the statute is May 10, 1916, and given by the Ashford-Sillers Chaper UDC

Brant Waters, Jr. found this photo in his mother's belongings. His ancestor, Thomas Hilliary Caison, is standing on the right side of the statute base wearing a dark suit and hat. Click HERE for a close-up of Thomas H. Caison.

Mr. Waters shared the photo with Kay Raynor who in turn shared it for posting. Kay's ancestor, Francis Raynor, died in 1918 and is thought to be the 7th from the left in the front row, sitting on the stone

Anyone having information about this photo, please contact Brant Waters
