ORIGINAL GRANT DESCRIPTION |
On both sides of the Reedy Fork of Haw River. Beginning at a white oak on the bank the South side of the Reedy Fork. Running South 120 poles to a Spanish oak, thence East 420 poles to a post oak, thence North crossing the Reedy Fork 400 poles to a hickory, thence West 222 poles to a white oak on George Finly's old line, thence along his line South 169 poles to a white oak on the Reedy Fork, thence up the Reedy Fork by meanders of the same to the beginning. |

On both sides the Reedy Fork. Beginning at a white oak on the bank of said creek on the south side. Running thence South 30 chains to a post oak, thence East 105 chains to a post oak, thence North 100 chains crossing the Reedy Fork crossing the Reedy Fork to Smith's line, thence West to George Finly's line, thence along said line to a corner hickory on the bank of said creek including a grist mill and saw mill. |

George Finley, Sr. to John Coe Book 9 Page 131, 13 May 1806, , 259 acres plus 99 poles, $1500 ...near to which the remains of an old hickory a corner of James Finley's land, old mill pond, William Brown's line, a dividing line with Thos Dick, William Weatherly's line, new mill dam, including two grist mills and one saw mill, the said land conveyed from Josiah Finley to the said George Finley...
