Crenshaw School (1914)

Mother Was Teacher. This photograph of the Crenshaw School in 1914, which ran in The Daily News Friday, Oct. 5 [year not indicated], stirred the memory of at least one reader, Mrs. Tom Harmon, 117 E. Royle, Richmond, who called to say that the person in the back row fifth from left was her mother, Allie Davis Hodson, then the teacher at the school. Mrs. Harmon, who is the former Martha Hodson, was unable to identify anybody else in the picture, but said that others in the family who would recognize their mother in the picture include Mrs. A. C. Bilton, the former Mary Hodson, Richmond; Bill Hodson, Richmond; and Jean Leamer, the former Jean Hodson, Polo.
