Mildred Knost, daughter of the late John William and Lucy Lee Roden Fisher was born on March 26, 1902 in Pulaski County, Missouri and departed this life on January 1, 1990 at the Sullivan Nursing Center in Sullivan, having attained the age of 87 years, 9 months and 5 days. Mildred was a longtime resident of Kirkwood. In 1978 she moved to Bourbon, where she made her home. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness and attended the Kingdom Hall at Sullivan. In 1924 she was united in marriage to Emerson L. Knost who preceded her in death on June 16, 1970. Surviving her are: a daughter, Joan Goff and husband Gerald of Bourbon; David W. Knost and wife Marie of St. Louis; a sister Pearl Brendel of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Marty Jo, Geoff, Andy, Anna, Daniel and Eric; three great-grandchildren, Melissa, Kristina and Courtney; other relatives and many friends. Besides those previously mentioned she was preceded in death by: a son, Lewis E. Knost; a grandson, David William Knost, Jr.; two sisters, Annie Lambeth and Rosie Woody; and six brothers, Roy, Elmer, Roscoe, Dalbert, Marvin and Paul Fisher. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 1990 from Hassebroek's Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Bill Harrison officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, St. Louis. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hassebroek's, Sullivan.
